Jail went back power light today from Ensel, presumably leaving all the cars there for the night crew to work.

sounds like Z627-09 is in Grand Haven, Michigan. MMRR 2019 leading MMRR 2170 should be trailing. Southbound 09:19. They were Elephant Style in North Yard on Sunday.

Just curious. What does Z627 haul. I see it's always tanks & short hoppers. Is it sand perhaps??

JAIL last night went SB to Jackson/interchange with NS. Took 8 cars with them, 2 NS gondolas (rebar), 1 2-bay hopper (sand), 4-5 tanker cars and 8-9 NS/CR coil cars.

When they returned they worked RSDC/Michigan Packaging.

Train is built for an overnight run tomorrow to CSX and CN. No daylight run to Lansing today.

Down in Adrian, the ADBF handed off another loaded grainer from the MAC in Blissfield. They are expecting an empty grainer today as well.

Grain prices thru the roof between poor yield in western prairie and this mess in Ukraine.

EDIT: - the NS empty grainer to ADBF is NS train 41N. Power is: NS 4186/NS 9625 for the Adrian one and it’s coupled together with a empty grainer for INER. It’s power for that train, right now the mid-DPU set, is NS 4085/NS 9746.

My cousin, who farms in mid-Michigan, says it takes hours for ZFS to empty trucks and the farmers don't like waiting that long. This may explain why ZFS is getting shuttle trains of inbound soybean loads.

They get cars shuttled to em all the time off of HESR as well as GLC elevators like Shepherd, Rosebush and Middleton. Those are all moves that we really don’t see.

We don’t always get to see big blocks shuttled to and fro via HESR but I know that there are near-daily transfers of smaller blocks of cars.

GDLK was presumably picking up the Otsego boxcars when I left to walk the dogs at 8:45. At 9:01 they were blowing for M-89, and at 9:04 for Riverview Drive. The wind was just right and I could hear to engine cranking up as they headed south.
