CN Train Location Updates - January 2022

EB A450 at MP 215. Another EB M394 w 2 UPs, one up and one mid, lined behind it. WB L514 out of Flint Yard is at E Durand.

All of the sudden, CN’s Flint sub has awakened.

That WB out of Flint was L514. It’s taking the High Wye at 18:05.

Second WB following L514 lined onto M1 at E Durand.

EB 2-unit UP and mid-train DPU UP by the 205 cam at 18:07-12. Second day in a row that M394 has had one UP up front and one mid UP.

EB A450 at Okemos.

EB M396 at Shaftsburg approaching Bancroft and lined onto M2 to meet the WB.

WB out of Flint that took the high wye at 18:05 was L500. M394 was following L501.

Before E251 rounded the Chicago Wye in Durand, they came to a stop, and from what it sounded like, since leaving Pontiac, had an issue with air. A westbound that was supposed to follow was given the signal to proceed with another WB behind it yet.

Not listening to radio now though, so won't keep up [much]

Westbound traffic is stopping temporarily at Okemos for a reported vehicle on the ROW near MP223.

Did anyone get the westbound unit potash train, I saw it when i was inside the Vlasic plant in Imlay City maybe headed to the HESR this was around 1800 hours it had two units one was a midtrain DPU two GE units one on the head end the other mid train, I know loaded potash normally comes out of western Canada but by the time the end of the train got by it was moving pretty slow like it was a loaded train there is a hill for westbounds on the west side of Imlay City.

These WB potash trains are symbolled B731. They are usually 103 car blocks for a total of 206 cars and it seems like they have been running with a mid-DPU set up as the temps have dropped.

B730 runs up and over the Great Lakes thru Canada and we get the empties run thru the US. In Canada they run them 2X2X2 loaded with 206 cars.

The siding at Imlay City is the only one that can fit these trains between PH and BC. I believe there are two between BC and Chicago that are long enough to fit these trains.
