Amtrak 355 just went past MP 22.5 on time at 5:35 pm. First Amtrak in two days.

Anyone know what happened to #365 today? Transitdocs map shows 4 hours late Battle Creek. Amtrak site says Service Disruption.

353 departing Dearborn 8 minutes late, Charger 4604, 2 horizons, 2 ventures, 1 Amcafe. Big crowd. Conductor saying train is sold out and 100+ people boarding at Ann Arbor. Good for business!

Yesterday Train 350 was an hour or so late arriving in Pontiac. Then it left Pontiac as 355 almost two hours late for some reason.

And this early morning Train 354 arrived at Pontiac around 5 am, around four hours late for some reason. Train 351 did leave Pontiac on time this morning.

09:25: 29 is nearing Chicago 4 minutes late.

09:26:
-351 has departed Kalamazoo 2 minutes late.
-371 is passing through Gary, IN 9 minutes late.
-49 has passed through Rolling Prairie, IN on time.

09:27:
-353 is nearing Detroit on time.
-365 has passed through Charlotte on time.

09:28: 350 has arrived at Niles on time.

For anyone keeping track of consist information, starting last week 448/449, the Boston section of the Lake Shore, has been assigned a new Viewliner 2 sleeper, while 48/49 the NYC section is back to two Viewliner 1 sleepers.

On the Michigan Line, new Venture series Business Class cars are starting to show up. I didn’t realize how new it was at the time when I saw one on 353 back on April 14.

This article also came out recently. Of course subject to substitutions based on mechanical availability, but I expect we will see mostly Venture coaches from here on out, with Amfleet Cafe and Horizon Cafe (remember when they were “Dinettes?”) cars continuing to offer food service for now.

Interesting, so the business class will be separate from the cafe? unlike the horizons/amfleets where they are in the same car?

Correct, they will ultimately be a married Cafe-Business Class pair. But right now, the Cafes are on massive delay so they're paired up Business Class and Coach Class cars, and continuing to use the Horizon and Amfleet equipment to provide the Cafe services.

Bit of a fun one happened at Chicago Union Station at around 2 AM, a charger was going over a switch, while it was half way over it, the switch reversed and the rear of the engine ended up on the other track. Multi-track drifting!

350 today had a Charger leading and a Genesis P42 trailing. And only one new Venture coach.

355 that just left Pontiac had the P42 leading and left the Charger in Pontiac.

An entire train of loaded Amtrak neon green ballast hoopers just went by me at Cassandra, PA. This is heading for the AML, two NS AC44C6M's for power.
