X508 is somewhere between Durand and Holly right now. This is a power move out of Flint for the intermodal running out of Moterm I was talking about earlier. Currently digging to find what the numbers are on the units.

X508 was CN 8906/CN 2919 and arrived at Moterm at 15:30

NB>WB X119 out of Moterm for Roberts Bank, BC will be CN 2919 up front and mid DPU CN 8906. Building train now.

CN 2919 was 2/2 on E271 and was dropped in Flint when they dropped most of their racks.

E271 carried on to BC with just CN 2256 and 16 racks. It was thru Charlotte at 07:25 AM

X119 departed Moterm at 5:20 ish long train all empty wells

X508 was CN 8906/CN 2919 and arrived at Moterm at 15:30

The story is quite interesting behind this.

The X508 that ran south last night (X50861-07) had the 8906 running lite and the X508 that ran south today (X50861-08) had the 2919 running lite as well. Both units were taken off of road freights in Flint.

Flint is VERY power short, which is why 507/508 has been running with solo power as of late. They couldn’t take 507/508’s power for obvious reasons so they had to resort to taking power off of trains just to make this 119 work.

X119 departed Moterm at 5:20 ish long train all empty wells

I’m a bit surprised though that it was all empty wells, normally these trains serve basically as giant empty container repositioning moves, maybe those cars are bound for storage, idk.

EB M302 with CN 3052/CN and mid DPU CN hit a large tree between Marcellus and Schoolcraft around 16:40. They are still stopped and waiting for track crew etc to help. L520 with CN 5436/CN 5441 is tied down in siding at Marcellus as well.

Last night's Holly Sub MP 22.5 recap:

That light engine move to Moterm with the two locomotives was around 3:30 pm. They must have kept them in Pontiac overnight or something before the run to Ferndale.

Then their 119 passed here around 6 pm or so with one a DPU for some reason. Maybe mountains at some point? It wasn't that long of a train and since it was all empties I wondered why it needed two locomotives and one as a DPU if there is such a power shortage? By the way, Moterm is still devoid of containers, the second month now.

It sounded like 507 followed 119 by about a half hour. I never heard 508.

At 2:30 am what looked like a light locomotive drifted north past MP 22.5. Probably an odd Sunday 513. He made sure he woke everyone up at Opdyke crossing, including me a quarter mile away. Hey, he was working and awake!

And this morning SB 515 with an SD60 went past around 7:30 am with a medium sized train.
