CSX Train Location Updates - January 2024

Question: Has there been a procedural operational change for Y121? I have noticed it has been going to Hudsonville to run around it’s train the last few times they’ve come to Zeeland to work the local industries.

Note: i’m not really sure what the phrase procedural operational change means but it sounded really cool so I thought I’d use it.

Oh that’s what Y121-05 westbound was waiting for. Keep your eyes open Tiout you should see it pretty soon. It’s been a busy day on the Grand Rapids subdivision /Fremont subdivision in and around Holland Michigan.

L303-05 @ 13:06 eastward reported from Seymour mp CH148.1 with CSX engines #521 + #78 (elephant style) & 60 cars (he had set off 1 car prior to departure due to mechanical issues). He has work in Lansing.

G817-04 thru EE Brighton at 05:58 with 87 cars. Called CH 43 as "Moyer Junction" or similar, wondering if anyone knows why.

Moyer was the last name of the engineer who took Soo Line SD40-2 6610 on a CP train from the main line into the siding at the old Thermofil building when the main line switched got turned by vandals, AFTER, passing the east end of Brighton signals, crashing into cars on the spur which also caused the cars to ram into the building. There was a dedicated thread on this derailment when you yourself inquired about it and you located an article in our local paper.

Used to be that MANY crews when calling the signals at MP43 used to say this. Hearing this myself this morning, the thought in my mind said. "Have not heard that in a long time". Jerry Moyer's son also was an engineer out of GRP who remained for years after the elder Moyer retired.. I believe both had the same first name, indicating a senior and a junior.
