Q326-02 @ 07:53 eastward has stalled out on the Saugatuck Hill mp CG32.5 & will have to cut his train in half & take 1/2 at a time over the hill. So far this year, this is the Saugatuck Hill's 12th victim.

Change in plans, Y121 is bringing his engine to help Q326-02. Maybe, he'll grab the CSXT #3138 that was brought into Grand Rapids last night from West Olive so that he has more power.

Smart of the dispatcher to put Q326 in the siding before the hill rather than to try to run his heavy train up bound in front of Amtrak. The physics of getting a train up a hill are incredible, especially when variables like wet rail and temperatures are included. Every axle, wheel and traction motor count. Adding four more axles, or 8 additional powered points of rail adhesion, made the grade. The point where the wheel actually makes contact with the rail is about the size of a quarter. That extra $2 worth of GP40-2 contact did it!

G790 grain empty with 89 cars went to Webberville overnight. 794+4573 on the head end.

G791-29 @ 09:39 is waiting to depart Grand Rapids with UP engine #6216 + UP engine #8263 lite power to go eastward to Grand Ledge to build a grain train & then take it to Plymouth for another crew to take over. These UP engines have been the coal trains pusher (added) power for the Saugatuck Hill mp CG32.5 on the Grand Rapids sub-division.

Currently sitting at Grand Ledge on the siding. Issues w the EOT. A CSX truck just pulled up to potentially swap EOTs.
