Amtrak 365 on time this morning at Durand. It passed the defect detector at milepost 257.1 at 07:06am with the usual consist (24 axles--that is, P42s fore and aft, and four cars).
As of 07:13 the only other train on the board from Shaftsburg to East Lapeer is an unidentified WB freight at milepost 283, cleared onto the Flint Service Track.

Conga line of westbounds passed through the area between 9:20 and 10:25.
9:20am, milepost 232: unknown symbol powered by IC 1009 with 28 cars, all autoracks. This one came up off the Holly Subdivision.
10:02am, milepost 232: Train 357 powered by CN 5634 and CN 2450, 296 axles, mixed freight.
10:25am, milepost 232: unknown symbol powered by CN 2676, CN 5440, and CN 2412, 582 axles, mixed freight. Had a few interesting flatcar loads, including a couple of pipe cars, a couple of loads of what appeared to be round ingots of an aluminum alloy, and a huge rust-red pressure vessel on an extra-length flatcar.

I'm interested in the symbol if anyone knows what it might be, as I see this train pretty regularly on my drive in to work. It's usually all autoracks and hi-cubes. Power varies between the CN family, UP, and BNSF.
