CSX GRE MQT Train Location Update 2-28-08

0040 Q327-27 Dept Wyoming
0235 Y320-28 Dept Wyoming with CSX 2697
0316 Y321-27 Arr Wyoming
0329 D803-27 Dept Wyoming BNSF 9751
D803 meets X500 at Grandville. X500 down 1 track, D803 on 2.
Apparently D803 is doing the set off and drop for D700, whom I have
not heard from tonight.
0341 X500-27 Arr Wyoming
Inbound crew doing the NAFTA pickup before tying down.
0500 First sign of Z151-27. Tower called for them with no response.

Nothing in the way of a Q334 tonight, at least I didn't hear anything. Maybe Doc can shed some light.

Pudge, if you had driven by Ann St. you would have seen two Amtrak trains sitting there. According to Raildude's Dad, a second one came in last night after the first one never made it out of GR yesterday. The second one has a loco at each end, too. Perhaps they'll put the two together? Should be a cool sight if they do.

Normally it's never good when you heard MOW going to work, but gotta love it when they ask for the train traffic..helps figure out these D800's over here.
Crew up at West Olive putting together western empties to go out.
Coal train going into siding at Kirk for Amtrak. Q326 is behind the coal train. Another crew would need to be called to recrew the coal train, plus maybe using the west olive empties crew to push the train up da hill.
D700 had a either weak radio or lack of talkin into the mic, as they hit the zeeland detector at 8:40am.
CP X500 was getting the blocks to head east, CP 8535 i believe as of 8:30am.

Argh... had heard this morning that Etzel was working on a crossing for today and tomorrow... (kept saying 'here' and didn't reference which crossing) Knew it was somewhere close to the holland depot... knew D802 was nearby when i left on lunch, didn't think etzel would be down near MP27(south of the depot a couple miles) with D802's 130 empties probably blocking some crossings for a while on the south side of town. I checked from 16th St north, no luck, and when i got to the depot, he let D802 by and cleared MP27... ohs well...

As of 1:10pm, NS's 36E wasn't north of Carl yet.

Zack...could that crossing be in Zeeland? I saw a few M of W trucks behind the seed company next to Zeeland Lumber.

I did all my railfanning from home last night. Tried relying on the crews to call signals with their engine numbers and train dates. No luck. Missed 334, don't know how. Wasn't around yet when D700 took off, so I assumed D803 was doing the Waverly pick up when East tower informed them of 3 tracks in Waverly that had cars for Grand Rapids.
Q33427, The Train That Didn't Wanna Leave departed Wyoming at 19:00
I was wondering when that train left. They were indeed having major issues. Glad to see they finally did get it gone.

So did anyone catch Amtrak this morning to see what kind of crazy lashup they had? Three engines and a potential six cars...hmmm...

Cranemasters is currently working on putting a new traction motor under the sick unit. The rest of the train must have went with the other train this morning.

P370(28) is late, we just departed Bangor 1 hour and 24 minutes late. Got stuck at MP487 Burns Harbor by the congeston in the area, We got passed by #30 looked like 2 B32-8 on him. looks like a long night for me;be home hopefully before midnight if this coal train makes it up the hill,with X500 behind him.

I found my list of bad traction motors, the one on monday was just the latest in a string. The list isn't complete, due to the fact that during feb of 2007, failures were so common that they were no longer posted on the internet lists....
