At 8:00 tonight, CN #2113 (15th Anniversary Unit) and CN #2573 were sitting with a freight train next to the GTW credit union. BNSF #4164 was readying to depart with an autorack train at the fueling station. CN #5379 (Didn't take a photo of this unit) and CN #5303 (A very weathered SD40-2W) are the new yard switchers.

I hear Desk 8 a lot on my scanner at home. Thought I might start posting some updates but I'm not real familiar with the trains or the subdivision.

According to Desk 8:

An easttbound somewhere near Lansing who is about 14000', will be holding at Durand for 501 who is or will soon be working there.

Lansing is on the Flint sub as is Durand. At Durand, trains either diverge southbound onto the Holly sub or keep east or west on the Flint sub. Also, at Holly the Saginaw Sub (CSXT) cross over the Holly sub. Hope you find this useful.

Thanks Evan. I knew most of that. I'm just not real familiar with the trains or where they work and run. Also I'm not familiar with the locations and mileposts I hear. I assume most of the time when I hear desk 8 confirming loco ID's and fuel #'s and good bulletin #'s they are getting ready to depart. I assume Battle Creek but also thought some of the trains could possibly originate in Lansing somewhere. The tracks are about 19 miles from my house so I can hear desk 8 but never the trains.

Here's a screencapture of the ATCS layout, so you can see the locations and mileposts...

385 went through RIchmond at 1541. CN 2236, CN 8820, and CN 2283 was the power. Surprised no ES44AC or ET44AC  626 axles.

I photographed southbound train 533 with BCOL "Cowl" C40-8M and one loaded "Well Car" set! It was passing through in Mt. Clemens at 4:30 p.m. We followed it to the 15 Mile crossing! I'm sure it was leading "Long Hood Forward" to exchange cars at MoTerm train yard, Ferndale!!!! Then it will return to Pt. Huron later!!!!
