UP restrictions

Unread post by jwilliam33 »

Wow, wonder why customers would turn away from rail as a legitimate freight option? Grrrrr.

 If UP can't provide the service that it's customers require, then another railroad should be allowed to use whatever tracks are needed to satisfy the customer. Why did they merge all those rr's into their system?? Maybe they should be forced to divest themselves of all the merged rr's and go back to the track it had originally. Or, since they don't know how to run a railroad, maybe have a go at running a hamburger chain.

If left unchecked local traffic congestion can spread across they system and beyond Union Pacific. Look back to the 90's when UP against the consul of SP managers closed Englewood Yard in Houston. Chemical traffic in Houston locked up and the congestion spread across UP to other carriers before UP could correct it. The Class One's appear to be running a bit too lean but is UP holding back a surge in traffic from these 30 shippers to prevent a similar situation? Their financial performance says they do know how to run a railroad.

Yeah, their financial performance may be good, but their employees and customers say otherwise. Same at CSX, NS, BNSF. Maybe the stockholders can lay track,or switch cars since they are short on workers. This problem cannot go on long with out something tragic--and expensive happening.
