DPI Settings

I noticed the other day that all of my pictures have been coming off my camera at 72 dpi. I know that most cameras shoot pictures with higher dpi than that, heck my old Canon S3 IS shot pictures at 180 dpi. Is there a way to change this on my camera? I have a Canon Rebel XSi, I would've thought it'd shoot at a higher dpi than that. Is there anyway to change any of my pictures that are already 72 dpi, or are they stuck that way? Thanks in advance.

Not sure how to change that, but I know when I shoot in raw mode on each of my Canons, the images are 350 dpi according to the Canon raw converter software. Are you shooting jpg?

I would recommend use the setting with the L and a smoth radius, and shoot in RAW, I like RAW because its the exact image and it is not compressed there for it does not degrade the quality. This should increase your DPI
