Lansing show, fun?

Unread post by sandpatch1 »

Well that was the longest line at 10am i have ever seen.
Show was great saw a lot of friends. And actually to much stuff LOL couldn’t decide, but some great but sad book deals. What was great was the same stuff on 4 different tables so you had a choice of condition and the $$$,
P.S. weathering is not worth $25 on a $10 car.. also the O layout was great,

That was a pretty impressive line at opening.

I went in not really looking for anything in particular, but just like the last three times I've gone to the show, I left with barely enough cash to buy a late lunch.

I got a bunch of Tomar signals for effectively $10 per signal head, then bought Chuck Geletzke's four most recent volumes of railroaders' stories. Then I bought enough covered hoppers and vegetable oil tank cars that I'll have what I need when I finally start building modules for the Kendallville Terminal so I can use the SW8 I painted up a dozen years ago.

Between that and seeing a lot of old friends I hadn't seen since the last operating session at Ozanich's in 2020, it was a very worthwhile trip. It also gave me the chance to get into Lansing to get some photos of the remodeled Lansing Union Depot.
