Free and Better than MR

Unread post by TrainWatcher »

Was on facebook today and saw this link for Model Railroad Hobbyist Magazine. Its a Free Internet magazine with very interesting articles. It is sponsored by many of the Model Railroading companies, and I feel its better than MR as they aren't always counter referancing a book that they have published. Take a look!

I agree! Been receiving this for several months, great articles, although very ad-laden, but sometimes the ads contain special offers for readers, like the recent free fiber optics kit.

I've been reading MRH since the first issue, and it's well worth checking out. The articles are big and beefy, lots of good detail. The content seems to be more towards what I consider to be intermediate and advanced topics. Being a beginner, I feel I'm still getting my money's worth from MR at this point in my modeling career - I use them both to compliment each other.

The MRH ads are sometimes distracting, especially the half-page ones. My technique for those is to just drag my browser window off the "edge" of the screen to block them out. That way I can concentrate on the article.

Got a heads up about MRH a few days ago and checked it out. Lots of ads but lots of great articles as well. As a newbie in this great hobby, it was a great reference.

An internet publication will never replace the intrinsic qualities of a well done analog periodical Just my opinion.

Besides, what would I read in the bathroom?

Got a kindle as a x-mas gift, pretty sweet. Read Harry Potter 7 and can even browse websites on it...very slow and cumbersome, but still.

I suppose, but then again, it's no big deal if you accidentally drop your issue of MR in the toilet....
