That would mean that WC 3012, 3027, 6004, 6006 and possibly 3026 and a second WC GP40 would be stored. WC 6004 was in a line of 4 SD40-2s at Homewood and 6006 was in the storage lines in Memphis.

What do you think the chances are that the SD40-2's will end up on a regional or short line roster?

It appears that some of the engines thatr were listed in Memphis are now at Homewood. I saw a couple of them last time I was at Homewood Yard. Homewood is pretty much log jammed with all the stored power as well as retired SD50Fs, IC SW14s and MLWs from BC Rail (the remaining CRS-20 rebuilds) Ottawa Central and NBEC, so it makes sense they are storing stuff elsewhere.

They stopped using the IC SW14s?! Did they store a few of them or all of them?

They still use the IC SW14s for switching but not near as much as they used to. In fact, last time I went by there CN was using a trio of SW14s for one switcher and a GTW GP38-2/CN GP9 for the other.

DM&IR 406 and 408 are indeed coming down to Homewood, but they are in for some kind of work, not to be stored. They'll head back north when the work is finished. At least one of the gray ex-KCS SD40-3s have been on the BNSF lately, perhaps paying back HP hours.

What is CB? And when I went by Kirk, yesterday afternoon, there was two SDM's in DMIR humping, one SDM 618? repainted switching, and everything else back at the roundhouse. A hand full of SD38-2's the one GP38-2, another SDM, and a CN painted GP9 looked like 70?? or 71??

DMVW is getting two more of these units. We hope to have them on property next month sometime. Of the first five we have four in service now and are waiting on a temp switch control box to be repaired so we can put the 5454 into service. We really like the first four so we decided to get two more for ourselves. That will bring our total to five for DMVW and two for Basin. That will make eight six axle units for the DMVW with the three SD45 s we already have.

DMVW mec.
Looks like more SD50Fs for DMVW. I can't wait to see this line in action!
