CN SD75ACC - Locomotive Rebuilds

Unread post by Man o' War »

I guess this was a project that was supposed to begin this summer - converting an initial 50 of the 5600 and 5700 units to be assigned 8200 - 8249. Just curious as to whether anyone has heard anymore about the progress (if any) of this work. Thanks.

Prep work is being done by Progress Rail in Mayfield, KY. They are leaving Mayfield in primer paint.

I saw a photo of two more units in transit yesterday.

Haven’t heard anything about progress as of yet, but CN has several 5600 and 5700s “stored pending rebuild” currently.

I’ve seen a few 70s and 75s in primer, not sure if those are rebuilds or not.
