CSX 5384 (ES40DC) has been repainted into YN3c and now receives an AC lightning bolt just like 5322

Do we know what the YN2 count is down to now? Since Alex no longer keeps track I wasn't sure if anyone else was.

According to the YN2 list on bullsheet.com, there is 337 locomotives in YN2 on CSX's roster. There is probably a few less now since its been a little while since that was updated

I wonder if Ferromex bought them outright or just picked up the lease

Supposedly Ferromex is getting a bunch of those Tier 4 Aces that EMD has sitting around. Probably going to force out a lot of the remaining Dash 7's if I had to guess. I'm sure EMD is happy to dump those on anyone at this point.

Saw a video on Facebook of 4771 and 4757 in fresh YN3C on a coal train, presumably 2 of the first 4700 series SD70AC rebuilds.

Second unit was actually 4767, not 4757. But it is very cool to see CSX is finally rebuilding these flared radiator MACs, it means we should hopefully be seeing more MACs out on CSX soon

You are indeed correct, these are rebuilds. Great to see the flared radiator MAC’s being put to use in some way.

The question was not if they were rebuilt or not, rather if they were the first ones or not (they were).

This one, I'm liking a bit better. Hopefully, I'll see it lugging coal past my home in the New River Gorge.

Should be adopted as the new CSX paint scheme. Put a little tiny "sx" on the cats face and dump the boxcar logo - and we are in business!

It’s been over 2 years since CSX got rid of the boxcar logo.

That was done by railfans, at a location in Georgia, while the locos were left overnight--- per a posting my son sent me this morning.
