Going over the totals for Q1, here is what I have found:

First, here are the totals for each model. First column is the model, second is the total on 1-1, and third is the total on 3-31:

GE 953 936

AC6000CW 87 83

AC4460CW 3 3

CW44AH 58 58

AC44CW 379 373

C40-9W 43 43

C40-8W 254 249

C40-8 103 102

B40-8 3 2

B20-8 16 16

RCPHG4 7 7

EMD 185 160

SD70MAC 18 12

SD70M 3 3

SD60 1 1
SD60M 4 3

SD60I 5 5

SD50-2 6 5

SD40-2 77 73

GP40-2 16 15

GP38-2 40 32

GP38-2S 2 2

GP15-1 9 6

MP15AC 2 2

MP15T 1 0

SW1500 1 1

Total 1138 1096

Over 12 weeks, repaints averaged 4 per week. At this rate, YN2 will exist for about 5 more years. However, EMD and GE are not equal. Both saw about the same number of repaints, but there are far more GEs overall. At this rate, EMDs in YN2 could be gone in just 2 years.

I've seen a few coming through Avon in recent months. Mostly assigned to work trains, and one actually made at least 1 trip on a J721 train. Not sure what has caused them to stray north, but they have been straying over the last few months.

I have seen a couple in Lima over the past few months also. Of course, maybe "south" is anything below the Michigan line.
Not that obvious

Used to see the B40-8s through MI/IN/OH a lot in the mid to late 2000s. I think they were sent south after the last of the Dash 7 fleet was retired. Apparently someone finally figured out that a 4000 HP 4 axle engine is a terrible switching engine and started derating them.

In a follow-up report on the SD70MACs CSX recently sold to P&L, here is a link to a forum page where a picture of one of them, now repainted, is located:

It is about halfway down.

Offically, the 16 SD70Mac units in the 4500 series that went to Four Rivers Transporation, which included 4 units in YN2 and 12 units in YN3, have now left the CSX Umler roster. Therefore, I have deleted these from my paint roster, added on 35 new ES44AH units, 3065-3099 (even though the last couple of these may not have been delivered yet) and made 14 recent paint changes, that have already been reported above this thread (except for CW44-9AC ex YN2 437 which just came in today.

Subtracting 16 retirements and adding on 35 new units, its a net gain of 19 units to the roster. Subject to MQT3001's check list, Roster now shows 1093 units in YN2, 934 GE, 159 EMD. and 3,078 in YN3.

I have removed 437 from my list. This currently leaves a whopping 372 AC44CWs left in YN2. Which should make 935 GEs total, and 1094 for a grand total.

I wonder if you forgot to report one to me? My last 5 YN2- YN3B repaints I show are:
437
8244
8774
4558
1550

I do know my list has 1094 units on it, it is not a accounting error.

It is a good thing I have a mathematician and statistician helping to keep me honest on my totals. MQT3001 is correct on the YN2 totals of 1,094 remaining, 935 GE and 159 EMD. Rechecking, the current correct YN3 total it is 3,091. 3091 YN3 Plus 1,094 YN2 is a 4,185 on roster count, plus the one remaining YN1 and CR unit that will never run again in those colors gives a CSX roster count of 4,187 locomotives. Thanks Alex!

Next up we have CSXT 414 & 2760. 414 is re-entering the roster after receiving repairs for a grade crossing accident one year ago. 2760 is yet another GP38-2, the ninth since the beginning of the year. Both are in fresh YN3b.

Your current totals are:
- AC44CW: 371
- GP38-2: 31
- GE: 934
- EMD: 158
- Total: 1092

Have a great day!

Bob M found another repaint today. It is 2797, another GP38-2. It DOES NOT have the boxcar logo. However, it was known to be around Huntington in September for work, so was probably painted then. It is just no one has snapped a photo until now, which is required for us to remove it from the list.

With that, our current YN2 totals are:
- GP38-2: 30
- EMD: 157
- Total: 1091

This one is totally new Charlie. Not even on any of my lists as known to be at Huntington or Waycross for work and paint. Searched the photo sites for photos but came up empty. Did you get any?

Also, 7681 and 7861 are flip flopped. 7681 was repainted to YN3 back in 2011, while 7861 still remains in YN2 as of March 2013.
