Re: C&O Dispatcher?? Was wondering if you had any papers on the Chessie Dow/Death/Bomb Train?
MP17/ML18 were regular manifest trains Sag-Chgo via Baldwin/GR (and reverse), and were separate from the unit Chem Train. They also handled DOW traffic, as did the Saginaw-Ludington manifests LU75/TL74. The Sag/Clare/Mt Pleasant local also sometimes had DOW cars. Everybody got in on the act!

Re: Where Is It?
I'll throw out one more, this time something a little less generic looking. To get started, this was once upon a time New York Central trackage, and under Penn Central was part of the Detroit Division. Where is it.png South Elm Street in Lapeer on the former NYC Mackinaw Branch, south of the GTW (n...

Thank you AARR for the additional information. I was "out of the loop" by then, so I wasn't sure how they worked it on CN.

Re: Where Is It?
I just saw this, so it's too late for me to respond with the location. However, my grandmother's farm was about 5 miles west of this location (closer to Pompeii), so I've been over that crossing hundreds of times back in the 60's and 70's. It's too bad the town of Ashley didn't preserve the depot. I...

img377.jpg Sorry not a great photo! Carleton Carleton it is! Guess it was pretty easy. Photo taken from the tower stairway landing in 1974 looking south down the DT&I as train Apollo 10 (AP-10) approaches. This train ran Toledo-Diann-Flat Rock and always had PC power. Its counterpart, AP-9, ran out...

North Star? Simple one I think although I don't believe this location has been shown before http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/11339/czxczc.jpg I can still remember watching an Ann Arbor RS-1 switch that elevator back in the early 60's. Looks like switching it now would be pretty imposs...

Re: CSX Rail line through Millbury, Ohio
The PRR Red Arrow used to use that route between New York City and Detroit with trackage rights over C&O north of Toledo to Carleton. Passenger service had been gone for 10 years on that route by the time I started working at Carleton in 1970.

Re: MQT North End 10-26-2021
Thanks for posting! Always enjoy seeing photos of some of my old territory. Walhalla looks so different to me now devoid of the power switch motors and absolute signals! Used to be a good amount of block swapping set offs/pick ups there among 6 different trains.

Re: CP to Buy KCS
I'm assuming some upgrades will need to be in order between LaCrosse and KC. Most of this route is single track TWC and hand-throw switches. I once worked for DRI Line/BNSF in the Quad Cities area, so am basically familiar with the CP operations in the area, which haven't changed much over the years.

I would have guessed Mansfield, MA -- up the road a ways. I would have been incorrect!! I believe the Acela can run 150 MPH here.

Re: Plymouth Sub Signal Update Thread
The signal reverts to STOP when the head of the movement has passed the signal. Under C&O signaling, that would be red over red and the bottom light, in this case, goes dark as it's not required as part of the indication. All normal here.

Re: Why is restricting white?
All depends on the signal rules in effect. On the original C&O indications, red over yellow on a high signal, or single yellow on a dwarf was Restricting. Medium Approach was red/yellow/yellow.
