Yesterday the MOW equipment was all on the siding west of Clay St. That's just west of the old depot. There was a gaggle of guys in hardhats and yellow safety vests looking like they were getting ready to get to work. I'll try to get down that way tomorrow or Friday and see where they're working.

Looks like Hamilton Hartford Group is going to start a second shortline, The STB appears to have given the necessary approvals. It is 6.1 miles of the Hamilton Branch from MP12.9 to MP19.0. I'm guessing that is why the siding at (I believe) Fillmore Rd. was recently cleared.

About 8:10 this evening I heard , but didn't see them ,in Plainwell. Unsure which direction

Around 5:45 this evening the GDLK was NB approaching Schoolcraft. Seventeen cars. Does anyone know if this was a local or the train from Elkhart to Kalamazoo? If I had thought a bit more quickly I would have been able to see it crossing the diamond.

Came across the GDLK in Plainwell around 6:20PM. Nary a train in sight. Got out of the car around 5 to 10 minutes later, I can hear the horn. Not sure which way they're heading.

Still in town at 8:20PM.
