Really late report. About 7:30 this evening an NS was EB on the AML going over I-69. Looked like mostly tanks and CHs. I'm guessing around 18 to 20 cars. Traffic prevented a more accurate count.

GDLK 4190 and friend , possibly 4125, were tied down for the night just southof the crossing in Plainwell. Headlight was still dimmed when I went by.

Grand Elk 303 @ 3:11pm distance horns heard in Wyoming, MI, presumably NB Hearing horns again. This time down toward 44th. SB already? Jeez, that was a quick 1 hr turnover. Grand Elk must have either made a run up from Kalamazoo, or ran light from Grand Rapids. They were picking up the Otsego cars about 6:30 when we went to walk the dogs. Around 9:30PM they wee in Plainwell picking up the Otsego cars.

GDLK - Saw a string of boxcars and tank cars near Moline about 6:30pm, so maybe they were switching on their southbound run.

That's probably the case. They didn't get to Plainwell until after 8:00. There were several, I think 8 or 9, box cars from Otsego waiting for them.

At 1:45PM two Harsco units were WB from Galesburg. Per the Harsco website I think they were Mark IV Production/Switch Tampers. Farther to the west was a Hi-Rail.

There are the usual 5 Otsego boxcars waiting in Plainwell.

Sometime in the wee hours of the morning GDLK rolled into Plainwell and parked for a few hours. They can now be heard on the radio, apparently having returned from their work in Otsego. Presumably they will be northbound soon.

Wont matter anyways. Michigan just voted 5-3 to tear out "all rail extending from Walton junction to traverse city". Reason being lack of business and poor rail managment. Looks like there will be a new bike trail in michigan. Darn, I thought they would double track the line to help facilitate A2TC.
