Re: NS Peavine talk
Both of the GP15-1s have been down at Clare this past week dropping off full cars on the siding. First time I have seen them up close they look great going to need them to haul all the stone from Plum Run. I see something on the old Penn tracks tonight looks like NS coming to pick up these full cars...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Yes five or six cars a day starting in late 2022 depending on construction. Purina should be up and running in the summer of 2022 of late fall. The CCET is starting to get ready as they have a few more engines now some still being worked on but should be in service shortly according to their crew wh...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Correct as far as I know. The boxcars going up are loaded as well as the springs on the cars are compacted. Don't think the company gets anything by truck as far as materials.

Yes they ship one time a week several box cars. I see them down at Clare all of the time during the week. NS picks them up weekly. They expanded their product line must be doing a heck of a business now that Covid is over.

Re: NS Peavine talk
More good news for the CCET as the ORDC awarded a grant for $150,000 to the CCET for construction of a 1100 foot connecting track to Purina. The project will cost around $900,000 Purina will kick in the rest as the CCET will be providing rail service to them 5 days a week. The CCET is now hauling ro...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Got it but I too film trains that the people that are doing the work on the train as I can see that might be a privacy thing. I always stay away from the train on public property. The NS guys who bring cars to Clare Siding and take back cars that the CCET drops off care less if I video tape the engi...

Re: NS Peavine talk
First of all Brian and others have video of the CCET and other railroads on Facebook as well it's not all about You Tube. I have seen railfans post video on the I&O, NS, CSX on You Tube as well. So not sure why some of you guys are so down on Brian and the CCET. I thought this site was to support ra...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Just watched a video on Facebook today from Jaw Tooth that showed the second load of stone coming out of Plum Run to Roundbottom Road Transloader site. Over 25 cars loaded with rock. Guess this is going to be a weekly move for the rest of the summer and fall. Good solid business for the CCET moving ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Talked to the boys at NS it appears that the CCET is starting to move rock from Plum Run to the transloader on Roundbottom. Saw some flat cars on the siding last week. The NS engineer stopped on the end of the rail east to pick up food at McDonalds said that they delivered flat cars most likely to l...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Most have been shot at and the lights have been shot out. Several signals have been taken, control boxes the wires have been vandalized, any cooper is now gone of course. Nothing last long out east that is not secured or even if it is people take it. A year ago the CCET said people were shooting a m...

Re: Something with East Columbus Terminal Railway
Not yet. Still working on the track might be awhile. Maybe by summer he is looking to do some storage on the tracks but these tracks need some work according to the video's. Hope he does well giving it a good effort.

Re: NS Peavine talk
On the engine leased from IBCX and the engine was built in 1980 was going to the scrap yard. NS has been upgrading engines for the past ten years. The CCET runs in on most Fridays brings loads from out east to Clare Yard west and NS picks them up on Friday night and moves them to Sharon Yard. Why I ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
From what I hear it is a lease. That is a late model engine. Think the CCET is going to lease another one here soon as they need more power to move rock from Plum Run to the transloader site.
