Re: Ever been hassled while railfanning?
Now that the Fort Street bridge is closed the rent-a-cops at Marathon will have less chances to hassle railfans shooting pictures from up there. I talked to those losers back in 2007 while shooting a pair of SOO SD60s heading into Oakwood. I never shot from the bridge before and wanted to try a dif...

Iowa Chicago & Eastern
I was just looking over the Rougemere yard after lunch today and seen that there are 4 Iowa Chicago & Eastern units over by what I think is the scale track. I can only see the upper portions, but I think they are SD40-2? I don't have my camera with me today so I can't get any pictures.

Re: double checking
I have one of the 4-6-2's in NYC and it runs great. I have a couple of the Kato 2-8-2's and as for the running it is just as good if not a little better. The detail is better than the Kato's also and it is real easy to convert to DCC if you want. I will have mine at the GV show in March if you want ...

Looking forward to getting that Geep back Gov Crappo, all stuff I'd love to get, I'm temporarily banned from ebay(to keep myself from spending more money I don't have) Thats why I will just wait and trade with people at the shows, it keeps me from spending also. Plus I still have...

Re: NSAX reporting mark
CN Local 102 brought 20 NSAX gondolas loaded with coils down from south yard lastnight..Where do these come from? One of the cars was NSAX 8561 US steel purchased National Steel in Ecorse / River Rouge a few years back. They may be shipping coils between mills for processing or going to customer. I...

I have seen Severstal get coke delivered from CN, CSX and NS. They all have different connections to Severstals storage tracks on the west side of the Rougemere yard.

Re: Downgrading N Scale Couplers
The Kato units do run well and the nice thing is the couplers are truck mounted so they run good on tight radius. Chris, if you don't win on Ebay and still want a Kato 38-2 let me know I think that I have one in a box somewhere. Bill

Re: Downgrading N Scale Couplers
You will be fine with the engine. I just looked at one of the new GP38's that I fixed a broken coupler box on for someone else and they have the rapidos in the box along the spring and clips. Just be sure to check that they are in the box when you buy it, then you can switch the couplers. Switching ...

Re: Downgrading N Scale Couplers
It would be easier to make one conversion car. Just buy 1 set of the Atlas or Microtrains trucks and change one end on a couple of cars. This way you can run both types of couplers without any problems.
