Re: MMRR industries/HESR new connection in Alma
I remember loads out of Total/Leonard on Q337 out of Flint. High octane gasoline for an AFB in Utah. Walking the train in Michigan City I would walk by those cars and they would PING in the heat of the day. Weird. Also had asphalt loads OUT of Alma for various points. Terry Asphalt.

Re: White Cloud question
White Cloud to Big Rapids...and beyond went with the depression. Fremont to White Cloud showed up on C&O maps till the very early sixties but I assume was out of service from Fremont to White Cloud. A couple of bridges had problems or so I had been told. At one time Chessie was thinking about runnin...

Re: White Cloud question
The North Local was running five days a week when I started in 78. Cough it many times, and a nice run. We almost always turned at White Cloud, last regular customer was the refractory brick maker on the south edge of town. Ran around everything in White Cloud pass. Some days we went all the way to ...

Well, it got lined into the other guy but how did the system even let that happen? Should be a fascinating investigation, to say the least.

Over tonnage. Leave cars behind. No run train sunday. Fascinating. Gee, would not someone (yardmaster might come to mind) realize this before banging train together? I KNOW!!! Run and extra...bwahahahaha.

Sometimes railroad logic actually makes some sense.Saturnalia wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 12:22 pmExpect the signals to be typically located at easy to reach locations like at grade crossings. Ain’t nobody got time to hyrail or walk to this stuff!

Re: CSX Signal Question
SMH. Although the indication is possible on all CSX lines it is not on the signal system east of GRR. Never seen it. Show me a picture of it at that location. Until then, nope. Just because it's possible in lower Ohio on a new system setup, doesn't mean it is on our OLD setup. They would have to cha...

Re: CSX Signal Question
BnOEngr..I'll stand with you on this one. No such Chessie/C&O signal indication Red Red Yellow exists up here on Michigan C&O Division trackage east of Lansing. All old searchlite system signals and I ran over there for YEARS. Pulling out various C&O, Chessie and CSX rulebooks says the same. Again, ...

Re: CSX Signal Question
One question, new CSX or old Chessie signals? C&O/Chessie, per the rule book doesn't show a RRA signal indication. Not saying it doesn't exist. Red yellow red is slow approach.

Re: Plymouth & GR sub-div Work
Same with the dwarf on the GRE interchange up at Fuller. When I first started going up there in 1999ish, we called Tammy the Dispatcher one fine afternoon. She had no knowledge of that signal, wasn't on her board. From then on...fagetaboud it. We had permission to leave the switch open, do our work,...
