Re: National Rail Safety Legislation announced
Norfolk southern is already reinstating old trains back. 5 of which are going to be running in the Detroit area. Think the symbols are 158, 159, 132, 333 and 334. Think the massive 3 mile trains are done for

This has to be the first S756 in over a year. Haven't seen an S756 since July 2021. I knew they ran more after that.LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 1:03 pm12:50 - EB S75681 w CN 2836/CN 2583/CN 3082 clear Potterville. Bound for Lang Yard, Toledo for interchange with the WLE.

Re: East Palestine, Ohio Major NS Derailment
The other day I was in fostoria, I was shooting CSX train M560 and it came to a adrupt emergency stop. There was a smoking hot axle on an auto part car and the conductor got a ride to the car cut the train in half and took that car to one of the yards in town to be fixed. Then they shoved back to th...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - February 2023
Saw a westbound CSX Grain train with an SD40-3 leading sitting in the beck road siding in Plymouth. Most likely waiting for a new crew. Never seen an EMD lead a grain train up here in forever. Unsure of where it's going or a crew time. Saw it while going to work at around 13:30

Re: East Palestine, Ohio Major NS Derailment
Looks like those record profits will go away after all of this. Bad axle on a freight car causing this, third derailment since October on this line according to a local who lives near the line so not enough track work I guess and also had 150 cars total and 50 of them derailed. What a joke. It was g...

Re: Possible Amtrak Extension in Wisconsin
Plus Amtrak will have to go after CN if they want any access in that area. Amtrak would not have to “go after” CN. If Amtrak wants to establish a route, the host railroad must accommodate the service. On paper that’s how it works. However, that has not always been the case in recent years. Look at ...

Re: Possible Amtrak Extension in Wisconsin
I can garuntee you CN will not be willing to host any Amtrak trains from Chicago to Green Bay. It's extremely profitable as it's their core mainline from Chicago to Canada they've built up since the 90s. I can totally see a "gulf coast" like battle with CN and Amtrak. The Hiawatha is successful cuz ...

Westbound CN intermodal train through Durand at 15:45 with a CN GEVO leading solo and two citirail units on the rear. Q123? Q132 - Winnipeg to Markham, rerouted via Ontario. It also worked Flint. When it was spotted in Ontario, it was CN 2918 and mid-DPU CN 2766. It sounds like after the set off in...

They better not do what MDOT did with the current wolverine, pere marquette and blue water services. Pretty messy situation here... Plus Amtrak will have to go after CN if they want any access in that area.

Re: Amtrak cancelations this weekend
The crazy thing about all of this, is that by next weekend it will be feeling like early march in Michigan with temps rising to the 50s. People will never learn how to drive in the snow, it's 2022 people are always in a rush to get somewhere. That's why you see so many pileups on I 94 west of kzoo.

Re: Amtrak cancelations this weekend
News flash. You don't travel in the winter unless you want delays, cancellations and bad weather to cope with. Amtrak isn't the only one that's doing that. Flights are about to be cancelled soon enough I can garuntee it. Nobody should be out unless you have a monster truck or a monster jeep to get t...

Folkston and Callahan are the best spots in the whole area for CSX. If you want Norfolk southern head to Crawford which isn't far from Callahan. The Simpson yard may not be a bad option either. I think it's accessible I could be wrong. CSX runs 25-30 trains a day between folkston and callahan. NS ru...

Kinda surprisingly but not as much to see CP and NS pretty darn busy before the holiday train. Maybe they were trying to get all traffic moving before the holiday train? Idk whatever the case I would have loved to be out there only if the weather was a bit warmer and tolerable
