Don't think they made it up the Peavine last week pal. heypal6878, The only advice I can give you is to go out and take as many pictures of the Peavine as you can. I witnessed the EL, Panhandle, The single tracking of the PRR to Chicago, My favorite NYC/PC line to Carey Oh, The AC&Y west end, Etc, ...

Back in the old days I'd find the Forman of the scraping crew and ask him how much cash for one. Probably wouldn't work today though. KenMuleskinner wrote:When they start pulling up the tracks and dismantling the railroad crossing signals, how can I go and purchase one of those signals???

Re: NS Peavine talk
Now what about CSX can they or will they be allowed to buy the Peavine if they want to when it goes up for sale. Since there are customers on the line now can't they bid on the line as well? In perspective CSX can fix the crossing, have more capital to work out the bugs on the signals and operate t...

Ep. 462: Train v Car Accident - As it Happened! ah3H2wPYDhU Following alongside the train, after being screwed over by a truck who thought he owned the road, we hear the emergency brakes pop - passing the next crossing (you can see under the train - I didn't see it at the time) that a car was hit o...

Re: NS Peavine talk
They lost focus. Spent too much energy focusing on the past with the Heritage units and steam program. Dollar wise, no I didn't cost that much. It was the effort spent arranging those events that were the true cost. I've been saying that of them for the last several years. Wick retired before he ha...

Re: NS Peavine talk
They way things are going, I'm afraid to see what'll happen in my life time but, the railroads are still one of the more efficient long haul operations we have in our country, they'll always have a place. And we all thought that about the PC merger then the creation of Conrail. Things may change bu...

Re: Kenton, OH in the PC era
The connection was 40 or so feet west of the South Detroit St crossing were the Fuel Mart now sits. It was used mainly for southbound traffic. The Kenton local would use it to reach Rockwell and Durez Chemicals on the Southside of town. Also stone trains from Carey used the connection. Northbound em...
