Any thoughts about weathering in the future :?: Yeah - the thoughts are "I really need to!" I did a little here and there, but overall everything's waaayyy too clean. Especially the rolling stock, although WM kept their engines pretty clean. Fortunately for the era I model I mostly just need to add...

My layout - design and pictures

Hi everyone. I'm relatively new here and finally got around to updating my web site with information on my current train layout including text description, design plan image and various photos. Here's a direct link to it: http://www.geocities.com/mdharding.geo/wm.htm I model the Western Maryland in ...

Thanks for the info earlier - here's the picture I got of it sitting at Tracy Road this morning waiting to enter Stanley:

Thanks for the actual symbol on that. They've already got that power turned onto Q637 and 4848 was getting set to depart Stanley at 1PM as I was coming back from lunch.

There was a manifest off the Toledo Sub waiting to get in Stanley this morning at 8AM (has since yarded) with CSXT 4848 leading it that I'd like to get the symbol on.

Thanks!

The original message from 6/15/08 that started this noted that CN/CSX were "close" to an agreement. Now I know "close" in corporate terms could mean anything from next week to 6 to 9 months or more depending on the company, but has anyone heard anything more on this?

Still curious...

This has all been quite interesting. I would presume that most any railroad would know (based on various analysis of all the factors involved) what the maximum capacity of their lines (or segments thereof) are. Perhaps more than one number, like an 'ordinary maximum' for day to day and a maximum num...

Could someone please confirm a train number for me please? This morning (7/1) I saw CSXT 7614 on the head of a manifest waiting to enter Stanley Yard. I suspect it was Q506 (but it could be Q324 or something else...) and I didn't hear them on the scanner before I had to leave. As a note, he had 4 or...

Wayne, I appreciate your posts with all the 'dispatcher insight' - very interesting for the rest of us. To everyone, As a general question though, it seems like we've had 'inside rumor' on one side placing possibly several more trains on this route and knowledgeable people on the other side pretty m...

Not sure if I should ask this here or start a new thread, but on the way in to work this morning (0750 6/27) I thought I heard a G-soemthing train with CSX #1 leading pull up to Crandle Rd. (Walbridge Yd, Toledo) probably for a crew change. I wasn't able to get over there to check it out before comi...

4PM and no CP on the Sub so far (no movements at all since that yard job I saw at Lunch today). They either tied it down in a siding or (more likely) whatever it was didn't go this way.

Q324-23 Do you mean the train with CP/NS is 324-23 or the one in Stanley? Prior to the original post I saw a train yard into Stanley with a CSX widecab leading a NS widecab and then while out heard a 324 (I thought 324-23) talking to Stanley yard so I figure it's the one I saw earlier. Whatever the...

CSX "Geometry Train" heading North from Toledo mid

I forgot my good antenna today and all I heard was a "Geometry Train" calling the dispatcher wanting to head North at Hallett. By time I could get there, I saw no signs of it and heard a scratchy transmission calling clear Stearns & Erie. This was around 1240 today. Heads up North... Regards, Michael

CSX Q304-20 left Toledo today w/CSX 5945 (B40-8 in YN3) lead

Subject says it all - had a GEVO trailing and a GP15 behind that, but only the B40 was running. The B40 & GEVO came into Stanley this morning off the Toledo Sub on a manifest. I think that's the only or one of the few B40's in YN3? Went North at Vickers at about 1250 during my lunch... Regards, Mich...

[quote="Y@ Heilman"]When did 636 and 637 get moved off? I think it was around the end of last year/early this year. I recall at one point due to some track work/problems on the C&O a 637 crew who had just got on their train in Stanley was asked if they were qualified down the Branch and replied to t...
