Re: therailchannel.com - Conrail/CSX Edition

I'm not sure what you watched, but I just loaded up again and it's the same video as before...

Starts up with some UP power on an autorack train over a river, then picks up some CSX intermodal, Then a CSX mix with a Conrail engine, etc etc, some Amtrak is thrown in there too.

Yeah, it's too bad you took them down :(

Just FYI, anything viewable on public property legal to take pictures of. I hope you change your mind and put them back up.

Re: Train vs car on the Mt Clemens

I guess I'm not understanding... Your car is stalled on the tracks, train is coming.... and you don't get out? Are people lacking that much common sense or am I missing something?

Re: Grand Rapids interurban Bridge ?

You know what? I could see that working. I've been here in Albuquerque enough to know, Mass Rail Transit works. The towns the RailRunner vists are not big by a long shot. The only city that's close to the size of GR is Albuquerque. The other towns it goes to are comparable to Grand Haven size, or sm...

Re: RailRunner Saturday Trip to Santa Fe and Santa Fe Southern

Great photographs. Thanks for sharing. Does the Santa Fe Southern still run its "mixed" train, on which passengers were carried in the caboose? Same concept as Soo Line in the U.P. They had the caboose on the consist at that time. I honestly don't know as everyone was busy and I didn't want to both...

RailRunner Saturday Trip to Santa Fe and Santa Fe Southern

Last Saturday I took a trip on the RailRunner here in New Mexico and went to the northern terminus where Santa Fe Southern Railway is home. http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10507/100_1410.JPG The end of the station (Los Ranchos/Journal Center) facing south towards Albuquerque, waiting ...

Re: Charlotte and Southern Visitors...Aug 5, 2009

Yeah, that's a good point, that doesn't make sense.

PRobably a mis-understanding, and I'm sure this demand is from CN. I'm assuming this is so that they can "justify" having a local come out to Charlotte to pick up cars (but I could be wrong, this is where my knowledge is really limited).

Re: Charlotte and Southern Visitors...Aug 5, 2009

I REALLY love how these railroads(Class I's) are COMPLETELY forgetting who got them there in the first place. The VERY same customers that they are pulling this crap on. It just absolutely amazes me on how all they want to do is focus on the long haul freights (oh btw, wouldn't you need CUSTOMERS fo...

Re: Coopersville & Marne questions

Hello, I've heard that the Cooperville and Marne will be/might already be hauling freight to the owners of the old Delphi plant west of town, which is now a Cheese/Dairy processing plant. Does anyone know if this is true....or will be? If so, that would be the second Freight customer for Coopervill...
