Thanks. :)

It'll take a few days to get the video into the computer and edited, but some should be up on Youtube eventually. I'll post a link then.

Steam Doubleheader Oct 3

Since the weather was less than ideal, I concentrated on video but here is the best of my digital shots. Headed out for Owosso dark and early. Here are the 765 and 1225 just prior to their 4:30 am departure. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v601/dcluley/owosso430am.jpg Not many fans out in the dark...

Re: Detroit History for sale

Actually there's another of the "Peter Witt" cars at the Illinois Railway Museum too. It's the one that used to be at the Henry Ford Museum.

I believe the Michigan Transit Museum in Mt Clemens got one of the PCC cars back from Mexico?

Re: Locomotive on semi trailer in Pontiac 8-15-09?

I bet it was the restored GM futurliner. A sort of bus/display truck they used in the '50s I know it was in Pontiac, and can see how it could be mistaken for an old locomotive.

Anybody else catch the Central Michigan (whatever they are these days :? ) in Owosso today. I was checking out the short excursions with the 110 and heard an extra horn.

Re: Trainfestival 2009 Picture thread(post all pics/videos here)

how can you follow the excursion it's freaking impossible. Number one the tracks run from froom Southeast to Northwest with the exception of a short stretch just west of Owosso. And the roads between Owosso and Ithaca run on a grid pattern and cross at perpendicular angles. only two words can descr...

Re: Asking 4 help with Trainfest Excursion Times

I agree that it will probably by crazy busy. There were a lot more people out today than Thur. However given M57 and 127 Hitting both of those spots would probably be doable without abusing the traffic laws. :| Thursday they crossed M57 Nbd at 10:27 and went through Ithaca at 11:00. Not sure about A...

Re: Train Festival 2009: Update

Do I understand correctly that the Alma excursions are boarding on the west side of South Washington, outside of the SRI grounds? If so, is there any access to that area for non-riders, with or without wristbands, to take photos? Also, I thought I read that S Washington was closed (presumably to ve...

Re: Train Festival 2009: Update

The hourly trips go up towards Henderson and return. I believe the plan is 20min out then 20 min back. I'm not totaly sure on that though. Thanks :) Also, do we know any details about the Alma trips? Given the 7 hour length, I'm assuming long layover? Any idea what the expected times at Alma are? -...

Re: NS Lansing Secondary

I'm pretty sure the tank cars in Mason are for Americhem? (I think that's the name) the company across the street to the East. I've seen them unloading the tank cars into tanker trucks. I have not seen any tank cars sitting there recently, but don't go by every day. The oil company on the West side ...

Trowbridge Inn

The photos are great. :) There have been a number of changes to the "Trowbridge Inn" over the last 10-15 years. Originally all the rooms had doors that led to outside sidewalk or balcony, and there was an outdoor pool in front of the office area between two wings of the main structure. At some point...

Lansing Photos

Very cool pictures. :) The NYC Lansing roundhouse was just south of Gier Street, just West of High Street. If you look on a map, High street runs on a bit of an angle which matched the RR alignment. 7th st runs straight North-South and the NYC facilities were in the wedge shaped land inbetween those...
