Re: IORY South End Part Five
Does anyone know if freight service ever returned to Lebanon as part of the LM&M Railroad deal? No there is no freight to Lebanon. There was a company at one point that wanted to ship by rail; however the story I was told that G&W told them to go ask Cincinnati Railway Company, and they can't haul ...

They've been taken west. I caught them switching Afton yard last Friday and chased them back past Roundbottom. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/310/18935363135_46d90101f4_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/303/18312790514_49e5c581d0_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/541/18938286861_ba1b60949d_z.jpg

Re: NS Peavine talk
You can change that supposedly to a definitely Midland. Just headed past Afton at about 1:30. I will say though that the streetcar cost is a drop in the bucket compared to true commuter rail. 71 Light Rail would have been 1.15 billion in 1996. Metro Moves would have been over 4 billion dollars in 20...

They are probably the locomotives scheduled to be used for the excursion on Sunday. These trips are being run by the Allen County Historical Society in partnership with Cincinnati Railway ( http://allencountymuseum.org/ACM2/Ridin_the_Rails.html ). Last I heard the plan was to lease a couple locomoti...

Re: Rail next to US 23 in Marion, OH
That is good information, thank you. My questions are now: 1. What are the mileposts in reference to if it was originally not part of a longer line? 2. Why does NS maintain the spur today? I remember a few years ago they put down new ties and new ballast. That seems like a lot of money to maintain a...

Just a quick update about the I&0 Mason Sub and Lebanon branch. There are several stacks of railroad ties sitting at the US-42 and Columbia Rd crossing on the Lebanon branch. The entire line from Traders World to the end of the line at Western Row Rd and the north end at Lebanon is about to undergo...

Mason Sub using the siding at Traders World for a transload. Can you see this siding from I-75? I looked last weekend when I drove past Traders World on the interstate but had trouble spotting the tracks down there. I don't believe so. It's farther south on the line right next to State Route 63.
