Not a vacuum,it simply breaks up the materials for easier unloading. Seen backhoe's mounted on a platform doing the same thing.

They used to base 2 crew's in Cadillac years back,a morning and evening crew. They mostly used the same power each day. The switch to the new Cargill Plant in Owosso is on the AA mainline. There's a north end switch,and looks like a South end switch also.

Didn't see anything in Owosso,GLC track crew's we're busy clearing out the switches and crossing's in Middleton this morning. 3 empties to pickup there,probably a train to Middleton soon.

There's was about 10 empty centebeams that went north last week. Seen them in the yard in Owosso 2 different day's. Brewer Logistics,a division of Brewer Lumber has been hauling a lot of lumber south though Mid Michigan. It would appear that there train loads are going up as well.

Seen picture's on a GLC Facebook page of them ripping up the hoppers,in the past the practice has been shove from Boardman Yard.

NS 6 axle's have traveled on the GLC Middleton Branch a couple of time's that I have witnessed. Only when picking up there Unit train,GLC unit's handled the move of the empties out to Middleton for switching and spotting purposes.

That boxcar everyone is talking about came from Agro in Ashley,bagged fertilizer fyi. Been getting them on occasion for a while now.

There's a Truss plant in Clare that get's lumber often also. So not every lumber load heading north though Mt. Pleasant is going to Traverse City.

The elevator in Carson City is in the slow process of being torn down,and a legal battle between the city and owner. Had a delivery today in Middleton and noticed today that GLC has,or has had for a while now a new customer there.CHS Hamilton bought the Anderson's Facility about a year ago,the old "JBC Grain"and have been seeing what I figured was feed being transloaded there. Went though Marion Friday and those 2 box car's are still there empty,was inbound materials for the Dairy Doo people. They have the warehouse next to the tracks,product was going from boxcar to the warehouse.

That CSX coke hopper was in yesterday's northbound sandwiched between the usual private car's that carry coke. I'd say a misroute by CSX.

Seen the northbound out of Owosso this morning,395&396. Cadillac has a lot of coke loads,pole loads,tie gons,some feed hoppers,and a few miscellaneous coming that way today.

The Ithaca ethanol plant is no longer,the property was bought by Zeeland Farm Services. They have started construction of a Soybean Processing Facility there,no word if rail service will be used. Although it will be one of the largest plants of it's kind in the Midwest so we shall see.
