A drunk driver did this to my left leg back in 1992. I hope your girlfriend's injuries were less critical.

Re: Railfanning in the Solar Eclipse
Yeah, I’m sure people have had rooms reserved for a few years now too. If I didn’t have to work, I’d just leave early in the morning and come back in the evening. Done that plenty of times shooting trains in Illinois and Indiana anyway. And since it’s in the middle of the day, there wouldn’t be any ...

Re: Railfanning in the Solar Eclipse
Well, it'll be easy to track the Chicago-St. Louis Amtrak trains if you want to time it just right for catching one of those during totality. Otherwise I think it would be more a matter of luck to catch a freight during that moment and in a decent location. *Edit: If you were to go to Illinois. Didn...

You can easily, and legally, photograph trains at West Olive as they are leaving the plant. No one is going to chase you away from the Hiawatha Drive crossing. Re: Fun Friday TLU Poll
I've been interested in why CSX plays such a big role on this site. It's always got the most updates from the widest group of people on TLU and it has by far the most detailed and up to date train symbols list on the wiki. It just kind of worked out that way. Definitely wasn't intentional, I don't ...

Old Kelvinator plant on Clyde Park? On the track/branch that used to run from the end of the City Market spur to Burton on the GDLK(NYC). One leg ran on the west end of the property and tied into the old interurban RoW. The other ran on the east side where you can still see rail in the parking lot,...

Re: Where Is It?
Somewhere in west Michigan. Old spur running into the building probably hasn't been used in my lifetime (I'll be 57 this year). Rails are also buried in the parking lot running along the drive to the left.
I'm sure this is probably an easy one for some people here.

Frozen frosted brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts are the bomb! Meh. Frosted raspberry fresh out of the toaster for me. :D https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors/pop-tarts-frosted-raspberry-product.html Neither. Strawberry. Definitely strawberry second when raspberry isn't available.

First time hearing of MMMM was on Facebook yesterday. Sounds like a really cool place and I don't how its existence has eluded me all my life, especially since I've driven by it or ridden by it in a car dozens of times in my life.

Re: Plymouth & GR sub-div Work
The EB signals for both lines are close enough to the diamonds that they won't be in the way of the reconstruction. CSX's is on the south-side of the tracks, so with a likelihood of construction trucks and etc possibly/probably using that lot to get in and out as needed, they won't have to pass by ...

Take a moment to yourself and have a rational thought. Do you REALLY think if this happened your "buddy" would be the first one telling you, instead of seeing that info posted here first by those in the know?NickThatRailfan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:59 pmI was just asking a question, yall dont gotta be so rude

Just heard Grand Elk’s horn off in the distance. Not sure if they are headed into Grand Rapids or out.
