I do not think I have ever read a more ANTI Amtrak article that the one by Ken Braun. He wants everyone in automobile and wants the government to giv...

Got the Southbound BNSF units at New Richmond at 1:02 pm. From what I can reached in this, there is northbound at Wells coming back to Holland and GR.
Also, CSX 2671 is switching in Holland and may be going somewhere. Any thoughts.

Re: Chicago Area Junctions and the cost of the highway aroun
One odd subject to think about is the cost of the Create Project. It is much less than building the M231 around Grand Haven. Think of all the rail improvements that could be done for less than the M231 highway around Grand Haven with a high level bridge for the road over the Grand River.

Re: HESR Beet Traffic
Mark,
I managed Michigan Sugar transportation from 1988 to 1998. We did not move beets by rail, but Monitor Sugar did.
All of the beet plants had piling grounds and Monitor had one near Deckerville. Give me a call at 678 296 1409 and I can connect you with guy who developed the business.

Re: Anyone go to the rail summit?
We have to remember that all freight flows between the big 6 Class 1 Railroads. Most freight moves today in container trains or unit grain or coal trains. This kind of business does not work in car ferries. It is unlikely that the railroads would want to be in the car ferry business with the few car...
