I take it that there is now some CTC on this line? I remember that Conrail ran it under DCS rules.
Thanks!

Re: Amtrak/ Norfolk Southern ITCS Pool
The P42 that handled train #365 into Battle Creek on April 12 was #64. The locomotive failed there (don't know what happened) and train #353 had to tow it into Chicago.

Two MI Amtrak Chargers in Chicago
Please be on the lookout for Chargers on test trains between Chicago and Town Line. The post on trainorders.com said the units had numbers of 26 and 30; I suspect they are 4626 and 4630. Once they are inspected, they should be pulling test trains. Having come from Pueblo, I assume they have ITCS and...

Re: Amtrak Updates February
You Sir, are correct.....switch problems at Milwaukee Jct. yesterday made 350 extremely late, local management getting their decisions overturned by the 'managers  ' above them, and the crew shortage in Michigan rearing it's ugly head all contributed to this mess #350 sat in Detroit from 2:53...

Still no ITCS east of Kalamazoo on Amtrak
I understand it is installed and being tested, but was told this quite a while ago. I found this post on another board and wonder if it might be true: The Chargers are ITCS equipped, but Siemens and Amtrak have had problems with getting support from the system manufacturers in developing the require...

Re: Amtrak Michigan Service Woes: 09/16/18
I read on another forum that ENG 31 failed while #351 was sitting at Battle Creek (don't know what happened to it) and #365 coupled onto the ailing train and took it to Chicago.

The AAA is predicting record holiday travel this 4th? How 'bout Amtrak - are any extra coaches being run on the MI trains?

Amtrak was supposed to run a Chicago-St. Joseph train on May 26 for the PGA tournament. Any reports from you who have seen it will be appreciated.

Ann Arbor station stop signs
I just learned that Ann Arbor has signs to assign the engine crews in properly spotting the trains on the station platform. Were they recently erected? Prior to this I had never heard of station stop signs outside of the Northeast Corridor former Pennsy lines. Are there plans for a new station at AA...

Since the cold weather, have any of the WOLVERINES, BLUE WATER or PERE MARQUETTE trains been operating with Superliners?
Have there been Chargers on the PERE MARQUETTE?
Thanks!

Wye on GTW/CN?
On Sat. the 16th Amtrak #351 had a bad coupler in the first car, which required the train to be turned on a wye so that the locomotive could couple onto what had been the last car leaving Pontiac. This happened on the CN just before the train got to Detroit. Where on the CN would the wye have been w...

Today is one of the two busiest of the year for Amtrak (the other being Sunday. I will appreciate any sighting you get of trains in MI. Each one, except for the Pere Marquette is supposed to have an extra car or two. Will 364/365 be the biggest (9-10 cars)? Will the Pere Marquette and Holland turn h...

I will be interested in how this actually works. I suppose Elkhart is pre-blocking a train that goes to the CN, but where? And what yard on the CN would build the train destined to Elkhart?

Progress of the Michigan Line M/W (part 5)
I had to trace clear back to Nov. 2016 to find the last report. Has ANYTHING been happening with track/signal/crossing upgrades on the Michigan Line this summer/fall? Supposedly last spring enough work had been completed that Amtrak and MDOT had applied to the FRA for speed increases through the cur...
