There have been two ballast trains of Amtrak hoppers from ?Birdsboro, PA that NS takes to Wayne and another train sets them off in Jackson. I wonder what project the ballast is being used for? Incidentally, the 60M today has the NS 1067 (Reading colors) as sole power.

351 took 89 min to make Kalamazoo- CP 482 (normally 65 min). Heard AML Train Director tell him that he had a switch failure at CP 192, which caused him to move the meet with 350 from there to CP 178.

There was an unusual meet this morning near Town Line; a very late 354 waited for 351 to come off the connection. I thought 351 turned from 354's equipment, so maybe he turned from 352?

351 delayed 1/2 hr act stop signals at CP 25 and CP 28. Not sure why the Train Director put him back TK 1 at CP 21.

For the past ten days or so westbounds have been crossing over from TK 1 to TK 2 at CP 485 and returning to 1 at 487 or 490. Is there a repair, such as a bridge, that has the track O/S?

What I don't understand is why 350 and 365 were held. The accident occurred just about at Dowagiac station and the trains could have gotten by 351 on the controlled siding - unless because of 351's high speed, the train came to a stop past CP 180.
