Re: IERY(Illinois Eastern Railway)
I like how you took the story of the real CF&E and twisted it slightly to suit your new fictional road. May I make a suggestion that will add some extra traffic to your line? To make it more realistic, you need to include the Decatur Secondary from Adams down to Decatur to serve the massive Bunge(ex...

Thank you, that was my other one I was waiting on to see finished. Great job on the Rock Island unit, I think that blue and white paint scheme really fits those units really well!DT&I wrote:SPEG SD70ACe Added

Re: A Question of Decoders
Since this thread is about decoder questions, let me ask mine. What decoder do you guys advise I get for my Kato HO scale SD80MAC? I am NOT interested in putting a sound type decoder in it if that helps you guys narrow down the choices. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide.

Purdue has a bye week that weekend. I have seen the 765 enough that I don't mind avoiding the chaos that usually follows steam excursions

Re: More Rail Maps
Tenneco is lucky if they receive 3 cars in a year! I cross that line all the time on Linden Ave at least twice a week on my way to and from church and have yet to ever see anything move on it. I'm told any movements on that line are usually at night.

Re: Xenia, OH Tornado and a PC Freight (1974)
There's quite a few Xenia pics from the late and early '90s on Facebook. Amazing what Xenia had at one time. Very true because if you look around town now its hard to picture what used to be there. Most of the ex PRR routes thru town are now bike trails(Xenia to Yellow Springs and Xenia to Dayton).

Re: Xenia, OH Tornado and a PC Freight (1974)
There is a video on Youtube, I think its called "The day of the killer tornado" that talks about that day. Part two of it covers the tornado that struck Xenia and there is a brief part of it that deals with the train that got derailed by the storm.

Re: CN M933 derailment at Mishawaka.
I heard the train was M393, but I could be wrong. I believe this is on the old GTW mainline thru Mishawaka instead of the ex NYC main, not sure about exact milepost.

Re: WE On Strike
Strike was ended by a US District court judge who ordered the strikers back to work under a TRO and also ordered the WLE to bargain in good faith, honor its contract, and to NOT use management to run one man trains while the TRO is in effect.

Re: FORD
Might I add that the REAL Ford Motor Company owned some SW1500's, which were built during the years of GM owning EMD, so there IS a precedent for a Ford owned railroad having EMD's.

I knew his name rang a bell when I read it and when you said he was on IlliniRails, that's when I remembered who he was. Sorry to hear of his passing, my condolences to his family and friends.

Re: My version of Penn Central
I have made the decision today that due to the fact that I have majorly lost interest in doing this, I am pulling my railroad out of the paper railroad group and all lines will revert to their current owners and abandoned lines will go back to being abandoned.

Re: IORY South End Part Five
The ore company was the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range(DMIR). I remember getting photos of them sitting at LTEX back when I visited that place in Sept. 2010. Have to look around and see if the 210 is one of the units I shot that day.

Re: IORY South End Part Five
I forgot to mention that last weekend I was up by Urbana and seen where they have more of the salt cars stored on a siding south of town. Besides there and the line to Cold Springs, where else do they have stored cars on the Urbana Sub?
