Re: Anyone work for HESR?
You would be lucky to get it 5 car lengths walking on the side of the ballast; like CSX said, I would wonder about your mental state if you wanted to carry one of those at any distance... I sometimes wonder if this was some sort of test by the rr to see if you are smart enough to figure out how to m...

Hey Don, looks like you need a haircut
It ought to be fun putting track down in the helix with it built up like it is; how much seperation do you plan to have between levels??

Re: Train Festival 2009: Update
You can bet the house that if our name is on the move , there will be some of our crewmembers acting as pilots to handle the train.
Any bets that the 4449 will be leading with probably 2 of our slugs for protect and supplying HEP for the cars???
Any steam engines out there wired for HEP run-thru??

Re: Train Festival 2009: Update
Until they put an ITCS box on the steamer---and I seriously doubt that will happen---fastest speed on the Michigan Line with non-ITCS-equipped trains is 79. When the ITCS is in operation, Amtrak has to get a waiver from the FRA to run a train up here without a ITCS leader; right now that isn't a pro...

Re: NS Michigan Updates 3/20/2009
I worked the 354-17 which was the deadhead move of the equipment involved in the accident in Chelsea; took the rear unit off 351 at DET, turned it at Bay City Jct., then went to Wayne Jct. to get the train and took it west to BTL where a Chi engineer took over. Was really surprised I didn't see anyb...

Re: NS Michigan Updates 3/20/2009
Hey Scooter, I worked 351-350 today and saw B-16 in Battle Creek; it looked like they brought over a slug of cars and left an engine with them at Hinman and then took what looked like around 20 back east---they were sitting at the east end of the yard waiting for me to go east and 353 to clear main ...

Re: MAW Updates
That doesn't surprise me considering what the Wabash and then N&W thought of this line---a dead end branch line after it was cut west of Toledo; I suspect that there are still a few branch lines that still have light rail that is either 100 years old or approaching it. Up until 10 years ago, the lin...

Re: NS MI updates (3-12-09)
Janga, nice video. Now, do yourself a favor and stay back from the tracks a little further; you are on rr property there and considering how many reports and incidents the rrs' have had in AA with idiots on/near the tracks, I wouldn't want you to get a visit from the police. With an increase in trai...

Re: AMTK 3/8 and 3/9/09
Typically, when you hear about a service disruption on 355, it's account of 350 terminating in DET and then starting there as 355; this happens if 350 is late enough that 355 wouldn't depart on time out of PNT---which our current 'regime' seems to care the most about, nevermide what happens out on t...

Re: more railfest info
Why would 765 need to go to Lima on the CFE to get on the I&O to get to the AA when they could just take it to Milan on the NS and hand off to the AA, saving a lot of time and miles in the process; not to mention that when the move to Owosso is made, the engine might not be in Ft. Wayne when it star...
