Re: Train "in the way" at Berea

So last time I drove to Berea there was a train parked in the way so that you couldn't see any other train traffic. Anyone know of a way to check this out ahead of time? If it were a short drive I wouldn't mind but it's an hour. I think there is a camera there but I don't really want to pay to use ...

Re: Deshler Northwest Wye Removal?

Sometime in the last week, I was doing a rewind on the Deshler cam and was very surprised to see a freight coming down from Toledo and headed west toward Chicago. Not that after I left, the train did not back around the SW transfer and go back to Toledo or head east to Fostoria. So your saying it u...

I spent a night in Deshler for about 22 hours in but we saw no trains use the NW Wye but some guy told me there that a couple months ago there was a coal train with BNSF power that used it does the NW Wye still see traffic? If not why don't they tear it out?

Re: Man attempts to highjack NS train in Columbus Summer 2023

Guy appears to have laid down on the tracks, NS crew brought the train to a stop. He gets up with a hammer, crew bails, police called and video starts as police arrive on the scene. Not a ton happens other than the subject wasn't cooperating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa-6UTPQJSI fa-6UTPQJSI ...

176 runs from Oakwood to Sterling.

Why does it run? They bring traffic from NS to Conrail and FCA Chrysler. Lots of auto plants and industrial customers on the east side of town.

River Rouge is a Conrail yard.
Thanks

Re: Train traffic in Upper Sandusky

Non-railfans see a train any time they see tracks. Railfans see tracks more than trains. That's just the way of the world  No kidding, my cousin has told me he usually sees like 2-4 trains when hes there but when I spent like 4 hours in Fostoria on the busier part of the line only 1 train and ...

You must be referring to the iron ore train and the corresponding empties, not coal. Also, it's Mon-Fri.
Sorry I had been thinking about something else its ore as you said

Re: Fort Wayne, IN

Used to be that people would sit at the cement plant off of Hartzell Rd. in New Haven to watch the traffic as it came thru the NE jct., which is just east of the yard. NE consists of a diamond crossing of the Chicago-Bellevue line and the Detroit-Peru line with connecting lines on the north and sou...

Re: Delray,

Plenty of traffic in that area doesn't actually go by Delray. Most NS northbound trains leave the Detroit Line at YD. CSX intermodals can use the connection at CP Lou. Same with CP trains to and from Oak Yard. CSX trains can pull up to Delray when yarding a train at Rougemere. The furthest I've see...

Looks like a photo from this summer. Could be of the engine in transit. In any case, I haven't seen any recent photos of the engines in service.
I have seen videos of that unit in service, just not currently painted. It was running.

Yes it should be painted by next spring

Re: Delray,

CSXT L302 and L303 won’t pass through Delray unless they are wying the power, but yard job Y194 (I think) heads east from Rougemere to work the Boat Yard Line weekday mornings and back again in the afternoon. NS has a Boat Yard Line job too but I don’t recall the symbol. I belive Delray is around 3...

Reportedly, they are still in the shop in Hudson. There's a INER community group on Facebook. That's the best place to keep track of the latest news.
Nope, 4670 has been operating for a few months now
