Re: Diamonds in Kalamazoo
Grand Elk runs over those two diamonds. The east one just serves local industries like Graphic Packaging. The west one is what Grand Elk uses to reach Plainwell and Grand Rapids. Oh okay makes sense. How many trains go through there per day? I know there is 8 Amtrak trains per day, a NS local (not ...

CPKC buys CSX Plymouth Sub
My buddy just texted me telling me CPKC recently bought the CSX Plymouth Sub. I was wondering why and he said that NS dosent want the extra traffic on the Chicago Line so CPKC bought the Plymouth Sub so they could reroute there trains off the Detroit District also. Can anyone tell me if this is true.

Train dims lights in Bryan, OH
So I was out in Bryan today and this is the first time this ever happened to me. This intermodal train with 2 UP leaders passed me and as he got closer he dimmed his nose light and shut the ditch lights off. He had a clear signal so he was not stopping, and there we're no other trains near. I have h...

Re: Updated Milan, MI discussion
Terms of Michigan railroading, Battle Creek is probably if not the hottest spot for trains in Michigan. Around 20-24 CN trains a day, 8 Amtrak trains and maybe an NS local. Battle Creek is much busier than Milan. The wabash through Milan only sees 12 trains a day maybe less than that. 7-8 NS trains...

I was browsing the Princeton railcam and saw CSX and NS share a mainline their. I was wondering how many trains Princeton see's in a day. I tried looking it up and saw somewhere that said it saw 60-80 trains a day. But both lines aren't double tracked all the way so I dont see that being possible. ...

Re: New Buffalo, MI
On a typical day in New Buffalo you'd see M326, M327, P371, P370, and likely a loaded coal train and an empty coal train on CSX. On the Amtrak side, there are the 6 Wolverines and 2 Bluewaters. NS local B05 runs up the Michigan Line 2 or 3 days a week. B01 is an extra symbol that they sometimes use...

Re: Updated Milan, MI discussion
Literally just go to any place on the NS Chicago line through Ohio and you won't be dissapointed. Milan sucks nowadays. Ann Arbor runs at night usually and NS runs a majority of their traffic at night. Just go to Ohio. Literally Toledo is the biggest hub closest to Michigan. Everything changes once...
