Curious if the Coopersville and Marne is still running Freight to a Lumberyard in Walker? or did the GRE take it back? Also curious as to what was shipped by rail to/from Continental dairy in Coopersville. Saw they had a spur going into their building on Google maps.
thanks

Re: ADBF/JAIL Changes Made Under New Ownership
Don’t need physical online buildings to Transload rail cars. Plenty of opportunities on the CHS. There absolutely is potential. Was down that way a few days ago doing some Rail contracting sales pitches to the elevators and other businesses nearby, long story short most want rail service, but the c...

Re: Upper Peninsula Railroading
A publicly funded organization has been created to protect the White Pine subdivision in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. https://www.uppermichiganssource.com/2023/10/11/houghton-county-joins-newly-formed-snowbelt-transit-commission/ Isn't white pine copper refinery still receiving rail service in white...

Also heard from my sources in GLC that there was a mdot approved project in Howell as well, but didn't go into detail. Not sure if anyone else has heard anything about that.

Re: CSX L305 Customers
Fowlerville - Asahi Kasei Plastics - 45 cars on the tracks. How many are simply used as storage and how many do they normally get in and out? All of the cars are "in service", but there are some definitely being stored on site awaiting unloading. They are also super particular about what spot each ...

Re: Railfan Landon at Traverse city Wheels on Rails
However I have done track work for a few customers of GLC and and most didn't have good things to say about them. I know one of the conductors with SRI and he doesn’t have very many kind words for GLC either. He’s praying the rumors of WATCO buying them are true. I believe they already own half of ...

Re: Railfan Landon at Traverse city Wheels on Rails
Sure there are, I specifically mentioned "in the county ", not country. I feel that as taxpayers, we're supporting this business. Heck, we are paying for the weed spraying they just did on this section that was only done this year so far for this operation. Grawn is not TC, it's 10 miles from TC pr...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???
A few years ago CN approached some Michigan shortlines about purchasing the Orion Sub from the bridge over Dixie Highway to the GM plant. The theory was that a shortline could operate it cheaper than CN and thus lower shipping rates and maybe get back the GM Orion Plant business for CN to long-haul...

Re: Coe Rail/Michigan Air-Line Railway Wiki Page
"When Brown bought it I heard that he eventually made his money selling the line to the local governments for a trail." I'm pretty sure Brown purchased with the intent of selling it to become a rail/trail, not to keep it running as a railroad operation. At least that's what I recall of the discussi...

You can always try an alternative such as Rumble, GabTV, or odysee. Not as many content creators on them. Have a non railfan friend that had no success on Youtube, but had much success on Gabtv and Rumble.
