Re: White Cloud question
David I’m not sure how far back into history you are looking, but as you may know, White Cloud was once a junction town where the Grand Rapids-Traverse City line (today the MQT) crossed the Muskegon-Big Rapids line. Wow. This I did not know. Would you happen to know where this diamond would’ve been...

Re: White Cloud question
I heard about this train brought up by some people that live up that way. Where did it run to?C&O Dispatcher wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 4:31 pmThere was also the Dow Special on Sundays and the empties back on Thursday. I also recall the occasional GR-Baldwin turn when needed. Not sure what they ran in PM days.

396 and 395 ran to Traverse City today with a centerbeam and a few cars for Beacon (don’t have an exact count).

Re: East Jordan & Southern
Having spent parts of my summers in East Jordan for the 20 years I’ve been on this planet, that is so darn cool. Been trying to find some sort of footage or photos of the #6 doing it’s thing, as I drive by it every time I’m up there at least two or three times a day going places around town.

White Cloud question
Asking for my girlfriend who wants to know, but at it’s peak, how many trains would pass White Cloud a day? It’s obviously down to only a few trains a week, but given that the line ran (and still does run) to Grand Rapids, Baldwin and locations north of there (obviously abandoned), it had to have be...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - April 2024
For the Southeast Michigan railfans here, CSX L310 last night had one of the new GP40-3 rebuilds (without the spongebob squarecab) working it (number was 6567). This unit is one of only a few that I know of in service. Unsure how long it’s staying but it was definitely something neat.

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
Apparently, CSX is having at least ten of the former GP40-2 mother slug set units rebuilt to GP40-3 status but retaining their original cabs. Saw a photo of 6563 at Metro East in fresh YN3c paint, which would be the former 6417. Other core units for theses rebuild are 6423,6463,6477,6484,6485,6488,...

Re: A quick PSA (not train related)
Late update; but Katie was discharged yesterday evening! Lots of sleeping today, it’ll be like that for awhile, but she is home. Great news. I hope they go after the driver to the fullest extent of the law for causing this. Her parents lawyered up within 24 hours of it happening, he’s in hot water ...

My take of the inspection train that ran on the rear of Amtrak 350 and 355 back on April 10th. This is the new style of how I’m going to be making videos, people apparently REALLY liked it. Enjoy!

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
I believe Ceres Solutions moved all rail operations to White Cloud. I got the drone up this last October while chasing the MQT, while I didn’t take any photos of the facility, I did notice 6-8 CH’s on their lead. Past satellite photos show only 3-4. I did ask my girlfriend for the hell of it since ...

I couldn’t post this earlier due to some personal reasons, but heres today’s M383. CN 8102 (SD70ACe, one of only four that CN owns and the only one that can lead in the US to my knowledge) leading, GECX 2029 (one of the last Tier 4 demo units left in service on the CN) and CN 2788 (former citirail E...
