Re: New crossing gates, signals on GLC RR in Farwell, MI

I believe there are crossing gates on Blue Grass /West Campus Drive where GLC crosses. On Broomfield where there is much more traffic there are NO gates. What is the criteria for determining gates or no gates? I'm curious. The Bluegrass Road / West Campus Dr project was funded by the State with lit...

Or they can do what everyone else does and just not file. Detroit is notorious for not going after back income tax returns. That was true for a long time but now they're going after them. https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2018/04/17/tax-evaders-landlords/486678002/ I'm also fe...

Re: Crain's Article Michigan Central Station

When you post links to news articles, at least adding that the title in would be helpful instead of just link-dropping  Well that friendly request went over ... well. From the linked article: Ford Motor Co. plans to spend as much as $740 million on its planned 1.2 million-square-foot Corktown...

Being that it’s the Moroun family it will sit there and further deteriorate while ignoring pleas from literally everyone for them to do something with it

Re: Track being removed through Gibraltar (Downriver)

You have it mostly correct The industrial track is disconnected at Vreeland Road and Woodruff Road. I’m assuming the section between there will be removed, it just hasn’t been done yet. The switch at Vreeland only went in this week. As far as McLouth steel is concerned, currently the only access int...

They just redid those not all that long ago, but it was a very quick job so I’m not surprised one but they’re that bad already.

Re: Track being removed through Gibraltar (Downriver)

It’s the easternmost track (closest to W. Jefferson). So far the only crossings removed are Woodruff Rd, Gibraltar Rd, and Vreeland road. I’m not sure how far towards Van Horn they are planning on taking the tracks up, or if they’re going to put in another switch like they did just south of Woodruff.

Track being removed through Gibraltar (Downriver)

What's up with the (GTW?) track being removed south of Van Horn Road? They added a switch south of Woodruff Rd. to merge the line in with the one next to it and took out the crossing there, Gibraltar Rd. and Vreeland Rd. Not sure how far north they're planning on going.
