I would be curious to know though, since the prior repair crew did not reset the anchors, if the gap would be under an inch at neutral temp and therefore we can just weld it out. Welds add .5-1.0 inches of rail, so can be handy in situations like this

It’s a lot of work to just add an inch, and that’s why properly following our CWR manual is so important, so that we don’t set the temperature too high

Yeah, we’d probably cut out a say 16’0" piece and add back in a 16’1" piece, to add an inch
