man, IT support yesterday was a long day... major outage at 3pm. didn’t finish until 11:30pm. was on the call troubleshooting most of that time, small break to cook dinner for kiddos, and take daughter to soccer practice that turned out to be cancelled

Car hit the engine of P370 at Paw Paw Ave...a little bit of damage to IDTX 4608.

I like exercising in the rain and under some conditions even snow :)
~Z~ wrote: so AARR will still exercise whether the weather calls for rain or not. Some folks put exercising above rain, others don’t. It’s all good.

Light rain I can deal with, I can dress appropriately for it. Heavy rain and/or lightning and I’m out.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 6:32:34 pm »

Thanks for the suggestions guys

Great radar and forecasts that are usually as good as anywhere else
@ Saturnalia « Mon 6:00:57 pm »
It loads fast, even works when internet is somewhat spotty
@ Saturnalia « Mon 6:00:45 pm »
I use the MyRadar app. Totally worth the Pro version
@ SD80MAC « Mon 5:35:34 pm »
I use AccWeather, which has been pretty good
@ AARR « Mon 3:12:30 pm »
I use The Weather Channel. Consider me a dis-satisfied user
@ AARR « Mon 3:11:53 pm »
~Z~, I look at the weather app (which I’ve been disappointed with) but don’t adjust to avoid inclement weather
@ Chip « Mon 2:48:45 pm »
I use weather.gov. Skip the sensationalization and go straight to the source. It’s the only government agency I trust.
@ SD80MAC « Mon 2:11:35 pm »
Sensationalizing headlines, overhyping storms
@ SD80MAC « Mon 2:10:57 pm »
Used to just be weather, local on the 8s etc. They started pushing a lot of unrelated fluff after NBC got a hold of them
@ SD80MAC « Mon 2:09:44 pm »
The Weather Channel really went downhill after being purchased by NBC
@ DaveO « Mon 2:07:43 pm »
I used to use the Weather Underground App. It was great. Then it was purchased by IBM who owned the weather.com. I noticed that the benevolent rain shower passing overhead now appeared on their radar screen as a F5 tornado.
@ Doktor No « Mon 12:59:48 pm »
I was wandering around Northern Ontario, Sudbury, Englehart, Cochran and the CN/CP/AC lines. Takes you right down to the mines, railyards, etc, etc.
@ Doktor No « Mon 12:57:54 pm »
https://www.lightningmaps.org Too bad it doesn’t have a loop feature though. Killer map app though.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 12:00:46 pm »
in the brilliant concept department, i also check google maps traffic overlay whenever I’m going to head on the highways, helps avoid traffic jams.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 11:59:47 am »
I don’t know if AARR modifies his exercising regimen and timing based on rain possibilities. I know the route is basically the same most days.
@ Jetlink « Mon 10:42:23 am »
Brilliant concepts from rrfan.com
@ SD80MAC « Mon 10:36:33 am »
Yes, checking the radar before heading outside might help you avoid getting wet, one would assume
@ ~Z~ « Mon 10:23:51 am »
maybe you are watching the weather radar a bit better? i check it before biking, and generally always helps a ton.
@ AARR « Mon 9:35:41 am »
I’ve managed to avoid most, but not all, of the rain and snow to date
@ AARR « Mon 9:35:06 am »
However, this year it’s been the opposite
@ AARR « Mon 9:34:52 am »
And I’ve supported it with statisitics
@ AARR « Mon 9:34:24 am »
So I’ve mentioned in the past my bad luck avoiding rain while I’m excercising espeically when biking
@ AARR « Mon 9:33:34 am »
Great timing ~Z~
@ ~Z~ « Mon 9:20:11 am »
saw the incoming rain, so did a quick 45 min walk. just started to sprinkle as i got back on my property.

I did almost 50 miles this morning. I wasn’t about to sandbag the last 3 miles. I hate doing that.

Rock hunting? Copper? Silver?
@ ~Z~ « Sun 7:50:12 pm »
wifey is rock hunting in the UP, so I’m on kiddo duty. Friday weather looks good so far. need to burn more vacation days, so hoping dry for a bike ride
@ ~Z~ « Sun 7:48:30 pm »
mowing of the lawn complete. kiddo mowed the front at least. gas mower finally died, so got an electric. so much quieter and lighter weight, mulches better too. can have my ear buds at a lower volume too, so that’s a plus.
@ ~Z~ « Sun 7:46:51 pm »
I’ve had many times at night that I flick my headlight to top brightness when cars are being turds like that. waving fists of fury at them :)
@ ~Z~ « Sun 7:46:09 pm »
frustrating when that happens SW.
@ SW « Sun 7:16:05 pm »
Subdivisions, sidewalks, 275 bike trail, MI Airline trail.
@ AARR « Sun 7:15:22 pm »
Did you ride on a trail?
@ SW « Sun 7:15:16 pm »
Frustrating at times, though. I actually banged on a guy’s hood for nearly hitting me as I approached a stoplight while on a sidewalk bike path and about to cross the street on a green signal. And that was the 2nd time it happened during the ride. Yelled at the first driver. Both appeared embarrased.
@ SW « Sun 7:11:17 pm »
Yes. Couldn’t ride yesterday and limited rides Thurs / Fri. So wanted to make up a few miles. Might have been my longest ride of the year by a couple miles.
@ AARR « Sun 6:30:53 pm »
Nice ride SW. Is that a little further than your average ride?
@ SW « Sun 5:52:43 pm »
Bikey complete. 32 miles, 2:23, 13.4 mph, 1700 cal. Went from home to downtown Wixom and return.

Nope. Doesn’t really impact us. There are fire fighting TFR’s in the area of the actual fires to keep non fire fighting aircraft out but those are usually low altitude. like 3000 agl and below. Not any place we would be anyway.
