That must be the signal department's name for the interlocking. None of the crews refer to any of the signals as Sunnyside.
The “C” refers to that specific signal control house/bungalow/case within the “Sunnyside” plant.
When there is more than one house at a single controlled point, each case is typically lettered to differentiate it from the others in the plans and in the field. There is also a Sunnyside A, Sunnyside B, etc.
Also, at 18:26 CT, presumed loaded coal by Michigan City eastbound
Yep, that was Y197-18, heard him switching at PCA before L301-17 arrived in the yard. I also heard Y197-18 and Y106-18 both heading into the yard during the scanner talk
Is what you did not hear on the scanner is L301-18 / L301-17
heading both west and eastbound to and from Waverly Yard Holland MI this afternoon. (maybe Tom will be able to go back into the archives and find it.)
I got L301-17 after they left Waverly/Holland at 11:20 am in Jenison. I did not catch L301-18 heading west . I was already at Grandville when they reached Hudsonville. Was driving at the time and missed parts of the scanner. Was focused on catching M326 no they are late.

In the past 48 hours I have seen many trains in West Michigan. This morning I was in Grandville MI this is a picture of a train that I saw.
Good to see PCA getting cars. Seemed like for a while they weren’t getting any during the summer.

5316 was the trailing unit behind 41 when going by Howell at 04:32 with 66 cars. All but a few cars were scrap tie loads for GLC at Ann Pere. Yesterday, L302 sat off 4062 at Lansing so perhaps the third unit west of Lansing was either that or one the two units used on L304 & L305, 5500 or 4003.
L302 passing under the M-6 overpass just west of Thornapple
