Yes, I know. It was rare for them to run during Coast Guard Festival as I stated above.SD80MAC wrote:Monday-Wednesday-Friday has been their norm for the last few years.kd_1014 wrote:MSRR had a rare train on Friday during Coast Guard Festival. 2019 leading the NB run thru Grand Haven at 11:30 ish.

There were 6 covered hoppers visible from M-90 at Helena Chemical in Croswell yesterday. First time in a long time I've seen anything there. There might have been more behind the building.
Pioneer Sugar had the usual assortment of covered hoppers and tank cars.

Is Mon-Wed-Fri, still the schedule for the GRE? I would really like to catch them in Lowell next week. Any suggestions?
Re: Michigan Short Line Updates - August 2019
It usually is, unless King doesn't order many cars, thus having them run Tues-Thurs. Keep an eye out of if they run Monday or Tuesday next week and plan accordingly of when they should run. Also, keep in mind the different crews that work them, Alma crew is a bit later due to the hour and a half drive to Grand Rapids. Alma is on duty in Alma at 7 am, getting their paperwork done there, then heading over to GR, while the Muskegon crew is usually on duty at Ann Street at 7 am.NS3322 wrote:Is Mon-Wed-Fri, still the schedule for the GRE? West Michigan met Q327 at the interchange in Hartford last night to grab some hot cars that didn't make it onto D700 for whatever reason. At the end of the night, a couple of empty plastics and some loaded tanks were spotted for CSX to pick up.

3 hoppers and 2 tanks have been on the siding near the AMWAY spur for most of the week. Looks like some different cars at Ann Street tonight, so GRE may run east tomorrow (Thursday).
