Location within territory that, although signaled, is not CTC controlled.

Further west. The signals in the distance are just before a switch.

Yup-it's Kearsley. Too easy, I guess! I took it one day when I was working 1st trick. The dilapidated adjacent track was an extension that came off the Kearsley pass north of the tower and went down to around Court Street. In 1972, it became the right of way for the new #2 main (which has now been removed!) A lot can happen in 50 years! The tower was closed in 1972, but remained standing for a few years used by the signal maintainer.

A photo of the tower looking north. It was kind of unusual to have a "yellow north" on the train order signal. We almost always had a yellow south instead to deliver slow orders and work messages to southward trains, especially the ones that originated at McGrew.

Yes, William Ferry Park, on east side of Pine Street, Ferrysburg, across the Grand River from Grand Haven The bridge in the background is the US-31 bridge over M-104 and the Grand River.

Looking at the satellite view there is another spur track to the right that still goes up to the building

I think this is the PRR’s SC&S (aka the Bernice Cutoff) crossing the Nickel Plate in Burnham, IL.
