Where Is It?
Re: Where Is It?
From the satellite view it looks like Weyerhaeuser is an important shipper. There's an elevator in town. A spur to a lumber yard. But tank cars are packed on nearly every available open spur and passing siding.

Not three rivers or constantine. Try east of there.

Re: Where Is It?
Go north one railroad line from all of those cities and you'll be "on the right track."

Re: Where Is It?
Yes, it's Burr Oak Street looking northeast along the spur line to Knauf Insulations (which is the only rail customer in Albion) at southwest corner of N. Clark and E North streets in Albion, Calhoun County. That spur was part of the old LS&MS, later old New York central, later Penn central, now NS. It was the same trackage that cross I-94 expressway at grade northeast of Albion until its abandoned August 30, 1968. The only remaining rail customer on that trackage
was the Springport Elevator which is north off M-99 in Springport, about 10 miles north of Albion. The final run of the remaining passenger trains on the old LS&MS Lansing Branch between between North Lansing and Hillsdale, was in 1933, It was the mixed trains 64/65.
Re: Where Is It?
Hi 1949, for other Albion customers see if these companies are shipping by rail. American Colloid (inbound clay), The Anderson's (inbound fertilizer and outbound DDG, ethanol & grain), Continental Carbonic Products (outbound carbonic from ethanol plant) and Georgia-Pacific (inbound cardboard stock).

Re: Where Is It?
Hi AARR, The four other Albion customers you mentioned all currently have active rail service, American Colloid on Austin Avenue aka M-199 in Albion. The Anderson's Ethanol and Grain and the Continental Products both on B Drive N west off M-199 in Sheridan Township, west of Albion. And the Albion Georgia Pacific on Burstein Drive also west off M-199 in Albion.AARR wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 8:10 amHi 1949, for other Albion customers see if these companies are shipping by rail.
