Want to live close to the tracks?

Unread post by mikerm19 »

Have you always wanted to live close to the tracks?
So close you can wave to the engineer?
So close that the the train plows your driveway for you?

Then this is the place for you: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=228921

It's now a B&B, so you can enjoy a night stay at your dream house. A house that's pretty close to the tracks.

Stay a night! http://www.portgalenainn.com/

I live about about 500 feet from UP's Villa Grove Sub. Work keeps me up at night...er...during the day. Wave to the engineer? Chances are I just saw him at the yard office

And plowing the drive for you? The way I look at it, it makes to MORE LARGE piles for you to clear

I thought my Dad in Pennsylvania had it good. The back door of his house is roughly 60feet off the Norfolk Southern Northeast Corridor. Actually I think its called the East Pen Corridor, anyway Its awEsome. His back yard is at the exact spot that the head end of the trains sit while waiting for clearance to proceed west onto the single track into Reading PA. In the summer we drink alot of beer and BS with the engineers. We always offer beer and are always refused.

Now THAT'S the ultimate railfanning spot! Sit back on your lawn chair on a hot summer afternoon with a cold beer, BS with the engineers waiting for the greens, and probably get the latest scoops on anything railroading! 50 years ago the beer wouldn't have been refused!

They should list that as one of the selling points. A railfan might snap it up. LoL.
