As far as I know the count for Delray over 24 hours is between 30-40 moves or so these days. From 9 to noon you typically will get something like this:

2-4 CP (H95, H96-if fast, 130 generally, and sometimes any of the other freights if they are "early" or "late")
1-2 NS (could be a 176, 121 if early, could be a Detroit Line train, generally kinda slow for NS)
2-3 CN (there is a Q116 that normally runs this time frame or an A450, E251, generally two manifest come through midday)
CSX 1(ish)- the yard job will pull down to the tower when working the east end

From noon to 5 it is something like this

2-4 CP (131 is generally PM, 528 and 529 when running are normally PM in this area, the H96 could make it after lunch)
4-6 NS (31M, 20N, 21N, 121, an possibly a Detroit Line rack train NB)
2-3 CN (CN manifests/ mixed freights which symbols escape me)
2-6 CSX (All 4 intermodals, I150, I151, I132, I131 generally run afternoon into the evening based on my time there, but some will be after or before, CSX Boat Line job will go to the boat line in the afternoon)
0-1 Conrail (the St. Marys cement job will sometimes pull down the lead towards delray, it is not common these days for a Conrail job to come by during the morning or afternoon)

CSXT L302 and L303 won’t pass through Delray unless they are wying the power, but yard job Y194 (I think) heads east from Rougemere to work the Boat Yard Line weekday mornings and back again in the afternoon. NS has a Boat Yard Line job too but I don’t recall the symbol.

Nick, please see the following regarding the CN trains you listed:

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

CN A450-61 - Old symbol, doesn't run anymore at all!
CN E231-31 - Never heard of this symbol. Does not run at all to my knowledge.
CN E251-xx - Active Symbol, Not sure if this train goes by Delray, Daily Manifest Flat Rock to Chicago.
CN E271-21 - Active symbol, typically runs Pt. Huron to Detroit on the Mt. Clemens sub, runs as needed and is not a daily train.
CN E280-91 - Active symbol, Chicago to Durand and down the Holly Sub to Detroit, runs as needed and is not a daily train.
CN E296-71 - Active symbol, but has only ran a handful of times in the last couple of years.
CN M356-xx - Active symbol, has run more often than 296, although is still a rare train. Chicago to Durand, and down the Holly Sub to Flatrock.
CN L507-61 - Daily train, Flatrock to Flint on the Holly Sub.
CN L508-61 - Daily train, Flint to Flatrock on the Holly Sub.
CN M371-61 - Active Symbol "I think", but lately he runs West on the Flint Sub from Canada to Battle Creek, so he typically does not run down the Holly Sub, and thus does not run past Delray, and only runs as needed.
CN M384-61 - Daily Manifest, Flat Rock to Toronto, Mt. Clemens Sub.
CN M385-31 - Daily Manifest, Toronto to Flat Rock, Mt. Clemens Sub.
CN Q116-91 - Daily Manifest, Chicago to Durand, and down the Holly Sub to Ferndale (Moterm) and onto Flat Rock when he has autoracks.
CN M382-61 - Daily Manifest, Lang Yard Toledo to Toronto, Mt. Clemens Sub and Shortline Sub.
CN M383-xx - Daily Manifest, Toronto to Lang Yard Toledo, Mt. Clemens Sub and Shortline Sub.
CN S756-81 - Active Symbol, but only runs once in a while. Per LansingRailfan, S75661 is the empty train. S75681 is the loaded train. Chicago to Durand, and down the Holly and Shoreline subs to Toledo with Westbound counterpart back to Chicago.

Normally they run down to (ironically with your username) Lang Yard in Toledo and get handed off to the W&LE.

Hey David Collins,

Yeah, I’ve always wondered if I have some long lost relative in Toledo that they named Lang Yard after, lol.

I should have mentioned Lang Yard instead of just “Toledo” pertaining to S756.

E231-31 Runs as needed from Toronto, ON to Flat Rock

Plenty of traffic in that area doesn't actually go by Delray.

Most NS northbound trains leave the Detroit Line at YD.

CSX intermodals can use the connection at CP Lou. Same with CP trains to and from Oak Yard.

CSX trains can pull up to Delray when yarding a train at Rougemere. The furthest I've seen them was over to Harbaugh Street.

CP runs transfer jobs to CSX and NS. You have none of those listed. Also nothing from the Shared Assets.

CN numbers can vary. Autorack extras used to be more common.

Doesn't DCON cut through there to go to Milwaukee Junction?

Then how many trains actually pass Delray in a 24 hour period

There be your answer it seems; you answered your question before asking it :)

LRF - if anything, combining these threads made the original post even more outstanding.

Dear LRF, you keep incorrectly blaming me for administrative stuff. You're wrong again. This was not me.

I'm going with 25 trains on an average day at Delray.

My list of symbols is more realistic. I also don't put much emphasis on extras.

Ah, okay I take it the yard jobs and the CP transfers make up for the trains that dont go through there? Also another question why does NS 176 even have a purpose of running if it only runs a short distance between River Rouge and Sterling Heights?
