Passenger & Baggage cars in Pliymouth

Unread post by Sean N »

Saw a passenger and baggage car (in what looked like Amtrak colors) parked in the Plymouth yard (north of the diamond). Any idea where they are from/going to?

Next time shoot some photos! I keep a Sony RX100 in the glove box of our van so that I always have a "real" camera at all times.

I saw a photo of these cars at Rougemere a week or so ago. It's an Amtrak Heritage Diner and Heritage Baggage Car. They were both painted in faded phase III. The Diner is RPCX 8511, which is a former NYC car. The Baggage is smoothside. I couldn't read the number to see if it was from the Heritage purge from a couple years ago or if it was retired earlier. The Diners always fascinated me since they came from such a variety of Amtrak predecessors. Good to see them getting a new lease on life, no matter what!
